second tuner pixelation and discontinuity

Hello,

I have a Digital Devices Duoflex DVB-C/C2 using a CI module with CAM module to watch encrypted DVB-C channels.
The Duoflex is equipped with 2 tuners.
The first tuner work perfect. The second one shows pixelation and discontinuity problems. When using both tuners, the signal quality of both is 100%. The second tuner even has a stronger signal strength of the first tuner.
So, I do not understand why the second tuner has such poor quality.
The shop where I bought it, provided me with a new Duoflex card and also a CAM-module. The problem remained however. So, it's not hardware related.
I have tried fresh installations of Digital Devices and DVBlink with no succes.

Could you please give me some help on this problem?

which Cam? Deltacam?

I use 4 Tuners with a Deltacam Twin. This problem with pixelation I only have with 2 channels watched or recorded the same time. I tried different drivers for the DD-Cards and different Firmware for the Cam. Nothing helps. Nobody knows why this problem is shown.

Its a AlphaCrypt of Mascom
Other users have use this cam with 2 channels with succes

Hi. I know it works with the most channels. This is what I told.

You have this problems every time with all channels? Or is it only with one or two specific channels? If you have it only with the same than it is a problem with the cam.

Otherwise you have to control your cabels in your computer or you have to change the pci port. DD is very sensitive how the cabels are laid in your computer.

Another important point is the bus clock. It MUST be 100Mhz. Not more, not less. Check it in your bios.

Yes I have this with all channels. The first tuner receives all channels perfectly, the second has poor reception on all channels.
The problem is not due to the CAM. Both, the CAM and the TV-card have been replaced with new ones to ensure it is not a hardware problem.
The supplier said that > 100 people are using the same setup/software without any issues (not the same computer). It appears it's just me. It's a new PC with an ASRock Z270M Extreme4 board.

Oké, tonight I will try a different PCI port and move the cables away from the card as much as is possible.
And I will have a look at the bus clock if it's 100MHz.
I will let you now tomorrow.

I'm Dutch, I can read German, writing is a different league.

The bus clock was set to auto; however changing it to 100MHz did not help.
I tried a different PCI port with no succes either.

No, also with uncrypted channels

Then i believe the tv-card is Not ok. Both tuners use one single cable with the same signal. Did you asked the DD Support? Only one thing can be possible. The Signal strengh is too high. All my signals are between 69 and 87 dB and the picture is perfect.

But the tv card was replacement with a new one, samen result. So I guess the tv card is not broken.
Yes, I asked DD, send a log file of DD. All seemed fine, good signal quality and strength.

The signal strength is around 67dB
The first tuner a bit less. Some channels go to 59 dB.

Then i am out. I know that i have to try a lot of different things to have a top Result. Alt least i bought a boomtet and a adjustable balloon to fix. Crazy.

Hello Frank,

i tried to figure out your problem and played with my resistor in my signal booster. In this moment who tuner 1 is working, the signal at tuner 2 is less than before. I adjustet my signal at tuner 1 less then 60dB. Now i use the tuner with a crypted channel and all tuners 2-4 shows pixelation. After I corrected the signal to my ~70dB all is working fine. The signalstrengh i got from DVBViewer.

Maybe a small booster will solve your Problem...

What is the signal/noise ratio that you have when everything is working fine? Mine is around 36 dB
You can increase the strength with a booster, but the SNR not so much.
The SNR is from the Digital Divices app in the configuration screen.

Today a guy from Ziggo came and measured the signal strength and quality of the DVB-C, all turned out to be fine.
Because the signal is in order and I have confirmed it's not due to faulty hardware, this is for certain caused by errors in the DVBlink software package.
I will contact them directly, since they do not respond to this post.
