Android Client (Ice Cream Sandwich) Crashing when scrolling

Postby pooblej » Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:27 am

I have recently installed DVBLink 4 to test before purchasing however have run into a few teething issues when attempting to connect via the Andriod client.

I am running DVBlink Android downloaded from Market place on a Asus Prime tablet that is fully updated with latest updates (Ice Cream Sandwich).

Proving it works

Select DVBLink
DVBLink Opens and shows the guide listing
Select Channel - Wait 5 seconds and then live tv plays

Issue

However I am unable to scroll to the guide very much before DVBlink crashs / Closes. For example I am unable to select channel 82 as each time I attempt to scroll down it crashes / closes. No error is seen or displayed.

Please can you see if there is somehting wrong with scrolling the channels - as with out this fixed I can't select the correct channels...

It appears to close when scroll - quick or slowly.
Makes it impossible to use - any one know what I can try ???

It works perfectly on my Galaxy S2 running a recent official Samsung ICS 4.0.3 leaked ROM

I am not having any problems viewing the guide or scrolling on an ACER ICONIA TAB A500 running an Acer leaked ICS 4.03 ROM. The guide is also working on an ATRIX 4G running Gingerbread.

I cannot get any video streams outside my LAN. WAN is a no joy.

I've tried to replicate your problem on my Prime running ICS but it works fine for me, even when I scroll fast before the EPG is loaded. I remember a similar problem on my Android phone but I learned to wait until the EPG for the visible channels was loaded before scrolling.

I have two issues with the player, though -
- it is not possible to rotate the device (landscape to portrait or vise versa) without the player crashing
- the player does not dim the status bar at the bottom of the screen (home, back buttons, clock etc.) which other video players do. Is this an ICS feature which has not been implemented yet?

Do other users experience the same?
