hello

Is this the place to stay up-to-date with the release date for a DVBlink for Apple Tv4?

It would be a big plus for DVBlink and Apple Tv4

It would be a killer app. Swiping left and right with the remote to switch channels would be too cool.
Any official info about the status would be really appreciated.

The official status is "work in progress". I think that "end of Jan 2015" would be a reasonable assumption of a beta release.

sounds great...

I just tried to airplay BBC HD Formula1 recording from iPad to AppleTV and result was not as smooth as watching via MCE.

Ithink it has to do with transcoding it down to 25FPS.
AppleTV is capable of 50FPS that HD broadcasts use.

The difference can be seen easily in VLC. When you playback 1080i HD recording in VLC and choose yadiff x2 deinterlacer , playback is smooth as butter. Blend and other deinterlacing options result in stuttery video.

I guess what im trying to say is that if you can make high quality profile transcoder use yadiff x2 deinterlacer.

Will there be the channels on the top shelf (not sure what is actually called) when you put the app on the first row and you get the "top movies" ect the channel app which works with the hdhomerun uses it and its pretty cool you can see whats on what channel by just hovering over the app

You can already now use DVBLink on Apple TV... Just download the app MrMC from App Store.
MrMC is just Kodi without addons. But all PVRs are included.

Looking forward for a native DVBLink app, but until it is released, MrMC is working just fine.

So where is the DVBlink Apple TV 4 app at? When can we expect to use it? :D

I'm using the same setup, a couple of issues I'm finding though:

1. Cannot start watching a recording which is in progress
2. Cannot series record based on the EPG

... Unless I'm missing something in which case I'll happily stand corrected?

So while MrMC is great in the interim, I hope the DVBlink app provides proper PVR functionality.

Could be to do with the Kodi PVR plugin... I've tried Kodi on OSX and had trouble with series recordings too.

Tuner:Octopus NET (SATIP)
Server:Synology DS1010 DSM 5.2,DVBlink 6.0,Digiguide EPG 6.0
Client:RPI3 LibreElec 8.0.1, KODI 17.1, DVBlink addon

I've found OSX has a series recording option (I haven't tested how well it works though). As for the other issue, OSX doesn't seem to allow current recordings to be watched.

Once my DVBlink trial has expired, I'll see if I have better luck with TVheadend. Haven't tried it yet.
