WMC Buffering

Windows MediaCenter as a DVBLink client

WMC Buffering

Postby brianjg » Sun Dec 20, 2015 12:01 pm

Hi,

I've my setup as follows,

Win10PC with dvblogic (server & tvsource 5.5 12217), and 2 Win7 MCE with the network client installed, 1GB switch and NICs throughout. All recording is done by the Win10 pc, scheduled using the web ui interface.

When I try to play these back via the Win7 PCs from the DVBLink tile I get 'buffering' for the first few seconds and then the picture is OK. However if I skip ahead or back the buffering returns and stays for up to 10 seconds.

If I play the ts file directly from a network share there is no issue. I tried toggling transcoding, etc but makes no difference.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Brian

It's really hard to say what can be wrong in this case. Maybe some the peak load on the network/processor or something else. Anyway, please, set log level to info, restart dvblink server, reproduce the issue and attach zipped log files here.
Also, how it works with any other of dvblink clients? For instance at VLC on win7.

I haven't tested with VLC but I'll repro and get logs.
