Windows MediaCenter as a DVBLink client

windows 8.1 media center support

Postby Chris27 » Fri Jun 13, 2014 7:45 am

I just installed the new dvblink version 5 on a windows 8 machine as an upgrade from version 4.
This worked fine with windows 8. But after an update from windows 8 to windows 8.1 the channels are again disappearing as already discussed in
viewtopic.php?f=58&t=26400

As I am only willing to spend money for a new dvblink version, if windows 8.1 is supported: does anybody know when dvblink will work with windows 8.1 ?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

You may need to install GA Rollup A for channels to be found in Win8.1.

Hi Oberon,

thanks for the tip :) . I tried the following but unfortunately still no channels can be found:

- Installed Windows8.1-KB2883200-x64.msu (from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2883200 )
- Set DVBLink Log Level to „Extended Info“ / Max 1 MB
- Reboot
- Open WMC
- Re-Initialized TV-Source in WMC (added all 8 DVBLink-Tuners)
- Searched for Channels --> no channels found
- Saved Log-File (attached,
dvblink-log-20140614-1002.zip
(23.66 KiB) Downloaded 394 times
)

According to the log file I cannot see the root cause. Do you have any ideas how to make it working, i.e. to find the channels?

Thanks, Chris

Hi!
got the same problem here. Doesn't help much with the GA update either.
Tried to turn off the firewall without any success.... same result cannot find any channels. But it works well with XBMC installed on the same pc with win 8.1 pro.
And dvblink client configuration ver 5.0 finds all the channels on the server.

Hi

I have the same problem after Update from Wins 8.0 to Win 8.1. I have also tried to re install DVBLogic, but MCE find only the virtual Tuners, but no channel. I have no Idea what I can do!?
DVB Viewer is working probably and also the preview with VLC works, only in MC not :-(

Try these steps
http://dvblogic.com/wiki/index.php/How_ ... r_database
And then make all setups in MC again.
NETGEAR RNDU2000; Synology DS112j, DS 212j, DS213+, DS 712+; Western Digital WD ex2; Asustor AS3, RPI2 ...
PCTV 460,461e,292e; TT 4400, 4650CI;DVBSKy S960; DD octopus net; Inverto sat2ip multibox; TBS DVB-C ...

Hi,

Probably a useless reply from me,
Did you (after installing 8.1) sync the channels in WMC menu Extra,s?

just my 2 cents.....
