Recording two channels with Server 5.1

Postby suosa » Sat Mar 07, 2015 4:37 pm

I have Raspberry Pi with two DVB-T USB sticks. With 5.0 I could record two different streams (SD) without any problems. Then I updated my system to 5.1 and now if I record two channels at the same time, recordings are full of errors; jumping, artefacts and so on. With one channel, no problems.
From terminal with top -command I noticed, that when second recording starts, ffmpeg process starts also, some times two of them. With one recording no ffmpeg process.
Why ffmpeg is running while recording two streams? It takes about 10-15% cpu process capability.

I have exactly the same problem. Is there a way to downgrade to 5.0?

Same for me, running DVBLink Server 5.1 on a brand new RaPi Version 2 (quad core, 1 MB of RAM) running on a Class-10 SD card with actual Raspbian OS connected via 100 MBit Ethernet. I have used top to monitor if any other processes have taken significant shares of CPU (none discovered) during simultaneous recording of 2 streams.

Log file attached.

Thanks for your support.

FFmpeg can start only for a while to create thumbnail, after that it should stop.
Please, update your dvblink server and all installed packages.
Aslo, What model of tuners do you use?

I have two Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T USB-sticks.I just made a fresh install to the newest Raspbian, updated it,installed DVDLink Server ja TVSource (overclocked to 900Mhz). I still have problems with two simultaneous recordings but they are not so severe as earlier. But still annoying.

When I try to change log level from "Errors and Warnings" to anything else I get: "Error: Internal Error <<Return" -notification.

Looks like something corrupted in your installation.

You may do next steps:
- connect via ssh
- go to dvblink folder (it may be /storage/dvblink -for Openelec)
- stop dvblink server ( ./stop )
- go to /config folder
- open dvblink_configuration.xml
- find/edit there a string (you must write 2 or 3): <log_level>2</log_level>
- save
- start dvblink server
-now, reproduce the issue and attach dvblink_server.log file here
