I can confirm this works great. I have installed OSMC (http://www.osmc.tv) on a 2GB micro SD card and I am using the DVBLogic plugin. It responds so much faster then the RaspberryPi B+. I have not tested with wireless, but with wired network it is great!

I had one occassion where I could change channels, but saw no image. The RPi2 kept responsive, but just not video. I am not sure if that was the DVBLogic plugin or OSMC though.

New build, which was released today, supports Raspberry Pi 2 as a DVBLink server platform:

I'm having issues using Pi 2 as a client. Running OpenELEC KODI and DVBLink PVR client.. It stutters a lot... Everything else in KODI runs great, streaming from my server, etc.

Any updates to the PVR client? Was hoping better performance.. Wired connection. Using a Synology 1512+ as the DVB Server.

Do you have another device to test on that same wired connection, something like a laptop?

I am using OSMC which works great. No stutter at all on a wired connection. Have not tested same setup with wireless though.

Just a thought; Pi2 was released just few days ago and has a new CPU. Maybe you should expect things to not be optimal yet.

If you would like to contribute, please at least attach your log files...

Hello,

with OpenElec for Pi2 it works really great. Fast, no delay during EPG Loading from Server. The Movie-Database-Refresh is as fast as on my I7 Laptop. No stuttering with 1080 material or HD-TV in 1080.

Only if I change the skin it works like my B+

Da ist noch Luft nach oben! :-)

It is really faster then the old PI :D

I installed OpenELEC and switching HD channels in 4 seconds instead of 15 or more..

Great device!!

Today I did install DVBlinkSever on the raspberry 2 (based on raspian)
It works fine, install was easy. Userinterface etc. everything very nice, looks perfect.

Unfortunately my Feeling is that the power of the Pi-2 even is not sufficent to record HD TV. I'm using a class10 microSD Card, but there are Frames missing, no smooth watching.

update on Feb 22: I've done some overclocking (to 1.000 MHz), now HD recoding (S2 Signal via PCTV 461e) is getting better. So now only every five minutes a Frame is lost. I will polish my satelle antenna, maybe this will help additionally.

Fantastic! Could you test how many HD-channels you can record simultaneous without problems or what happens when you pause the 3 running HD streams? (I assume to a USB-harddisk)

hi,

i have a pi2 with a dvblink_server installed on wheezy
nothing else is installed
i use a nas for recording

i use dvblink for iptv as source with two merged channels
the hd streams are not high bandwith but finally hd (1920*1080) and quality is good
for testing i recorded one hd stream and watched two live hd streams at the same time
the are some frames lost but no reports in the monitoring tool
the recorded stream is watchable but you see some disorders
also in live tv disorders during the test ... not much but annoying enough

the dvblink_server needs a lot of memory

memory.PNG (12.16 KiB) Viewed 17145 times

special when you work with the webinterface (~160 iptv channels with epg)
you bettter not work with the webinterface the same time

cpu stats during my test (no webinterface used)

what i want to say ... it is usable
but i think the software has some glitches

@rwhome, you said, you are using a NAS for recording. How did you set that up? I am struggling with the setting under recording path. I've tried like "smb://server/path/path/.." but became an error.

Thanks and regards,
Volker
