A few problems with Raspberry Pi

Postby pete » Fri Jul 11, 2014 8:54 am

Hi,

I installed dvblink on a Raspberry Weezy and a single Hauppauge 930c yesterday and have a few issues with the setup.

Most importantly, I can tune most of the channels without problems, but a few channels gives me a very high disc/error count, that sometimes drop after a bit. I just switched from a Windows based dvblink where all the channels tuned fine.

another issue that might be related, i always get prompted for login/password again when i press the PLAY button in the TV guide interface. I did noticed when i play the streams with the very high disc/error count in VLC i get prompted for user/pass 2 times right after each other when i start the stream.

I added a logfile where i connected to a working channel and then a channel with lots of disc/errors as the two last channels in the log.

what kind of signal you are using (DVB-T, DVB-C or analog)? because I have some channels with DVB-T2 and analog also have from time to time high disc/error count , this is due to the quality of the signal and antenna.

to the second question, it seems that you have parental control is enabled
you can see this, go to the DVBLink Configuration - Channels - Channel settings and in Parental control press Unlock all - seve.

I'm using DVB-C, and I'm pretty sure it's not the signal as the Windows computer I switched from did not have this problem.

I tried the parental control thing, but it had no effect on the problem. VLC still asked for login and password twice before starting the stream. Thanks for the input though.

Is your Hauppauge 930c connect into usb in Raspberry Pi directly or through usb hub?

Is in VLC the authorization request comes several times when trying to view any of the channels or only those with whom there are high disc/error count?

I have the Hauppauge 930c connected directly to the Raspberry Pi.

I'm not sure about the login issue, it seems to be random when it asks twice for login/password.

Can you please again reproduce your first issue (...high disc/error count) and attach zipped log file here?

The logfile I attached in the first post had the issue in the last attempted tuning.

Hmm,

Looks all the channels i have problems with are on the same transponder frequency 378000. Signal strength is 100% (http://dvblogic.com/wiki/index.php/TVSo ... e_channels).
The channels are working flawlessly on a Windows computer with the same stick. Very weird.

What is the bitrate of the channels on that transponder, also comparing to the channels on other, working, transponders?
