Banana Pi?

Postby gsi095 » Wed Jun 25, 2014 3:08 am

Hi,

There is a raspberry pi clone that runs on an Allwinner A20 and has a sata port.

Is is supposed to be able to run a modified raspbian image, complete with the raspi-config menu.

Are there any other limitations like hardware that would stop the raspberry pi build of DVBLink from running on another board if that board ran raspbian?

If not, then theoretically the Raspbian image for the banana pi should work on the cubieboard2 (as the specs are very similar)

Thanks
Dave

raspbian installs on a Cubieboard2 using the image from Banana Pi. There is no ethernet but I got a raspberry pi wifi adaptor working using the Wifi config.

DVBLink installs but the server fails to start

sudo /etc/init.d/dvblink status
[FAIL] dvblink_server is not running ... failed!

I wont invest any more time on this

I would love a Linux Arm version and would pay for such great software. I have currently paid for DVBLink on Windows & Raspberry Pi with version 4 and Raspberry Pi and Ubuntu (running on an Apple TV Gen 1) on 5.0 but want a low power ARM board with sata.

Currently only Raspberry Pi hardware is supported.
If any other raspberry-like image will be supported in the future is not clear yet.

I have a Banana Pi with OpenMediaVault.
DVBLink server does not start after the error-free installation.

Here is the crash report:
/ usr / local / bin / DVBLink / dvblink_server () [0x4a8d70]
/ usr / local / bin / DVBLink / dvblink_server (_ZN7dvblink17application_linux14signal_handlerEi + 0x250) [0x4ac2c8]
/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libc.so.6(__default_sa_restorer_v2+0) [0xb649ef20]
/ usr / local / bin / DVBLink / dvblink_server () [0x4aaac8]
/ usr / local / bin / DVBLink / dvblink_server () [0x4b3d8c]
/ usr / local / bin / DVBLink / dvblink_server () [0x4cd008]
/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0x110) [0xb648882c]

Maybe someone can help.
Thank You

Any news for this? I tried server version 5.1 on my banana pro, but it didn't work... For now i'm running tvheadend, that works fine, but if there will be a banana version maybe i would decide to pay for a dvblink server.
As i see this thread is bit older, and now we have some devices that come with more powerful hardware, so why no support for that? Raspberry Pi is a good piece of hardware (i got one), but i found Dvblink server terribly slow on that device. Any chance that someone will port it to BananaPi/BananaPro?

Port to Banana Pi is not planned at the moment in the view of RPi2 model availability.

Thats bad, cause pi2 is good (i got one, but didnt use as recording server), but banana is much better (SATA, Gbit LAN...really good while writing much data when recording).
Btw, no need to buy stuff as there is an open source alternative ;-)
