Port for Debian x86?

Postby dels » Sat Oct 19, 2013 3:55 pm

Hello,

I have purchased the license and installed it on my windows pc, but I would like to move my tuner to my debian server, which is basically just doing media sharing and some other stuff related to this, so my pc stays a simple client.

I have been looking everywhere and I unfortunately couldn't find any information related to dvblink for debian linux x86. I know you guys seem to specialize on NAS devices and windows, but it seems to me that if you are able to compile for Raspi, you should be able to make a port available for a standard Debian x86.

I have multiple Raspi, and am currently working the set up for dvblink on my raspi, but I would rather use my debian server which has more horsepower as you can imagine!

Thank you for your help,

I would also like to see a linux x86 or x64 version. Surely it would only need a recompile?

me2 !!
most serious server is an linux-based distribution .. and i don't mean pre-installed-NAS... and by the way, not only raspberry PI , but also synology and qnap are linux based systems ... so a port shouldn't be too difficult anyway
besides i think there are more debian & ubuntu users than Iomega ... at least in europe^^

maybe u guys should rase the price in the first months to make it profitable - we'll buy it anyway :)

+1 for that. Any distribution welcome as long as it is x86 or x64. I have 4 PCI DVB-C Tuner cards which simply do not fit into a rapsberry or NAS.
Server: Core(TM) i3-4130T; 8GB RAM; ubuntu 64Bit 16.04.1 LTS; 4 Terratec DVB-C (Twinhan Mantis) cards, DVBLink Server, TVSource, TVAdvisor 5.5.0
Clients: 2 Android Smartphones; 2 Tablets; Amazon FireTV; All using current KODI

+1 For Debian Stable (atm Wheezy) support.

I would also appreciate either a launchpad PPA or some type of apt-get repository so I can pull updates through the normal system mechanism.

If I understand correctly you can install currently available DVBLink x86(64) for Ubuntu on Debian as well.
