CPU load > 90% on TS-119

DVBLink TV Server for QNAP NAS is discussed here!

CPU load > 90% on TS-119

Postby rayne9 » Sun Dec 27, 2015 10:45 am

I am running DVB-Link with TV-Butler on a QNAP TS-119. I know it is an old model, but the DVBLogic's hompage tells me that it supports the model. Unfortunately, when watching an HD Channel, it is unwatchable. The CPU load on my system rises to more than 90% for the "dvblink_server" process. The NAS does not run any other mentionable services. Are there any settings to optimize the load of DVBlink-Server?

For SD Channels the load from the process dvblink_server is 60-70%. I am checking this with the console command "top".

The TS-119 really has a pretty weak processor but i guess, it should handle with one HD stream, but if you have tried it and the CPU was loaded up to 90+% of usage, it of course makes a heavy stuttering. And a quite difficult to say what can help.
What client do you use?
Please, start HD stream againe and go to Monitoring tab, - what bitrate of current stream?

As a client I use Kodi Jarvis Beta4 with dvblink client. OS is Windows 8.1. Client and NAS are connected with 1 GB/s (ethernet cable). The stream bitrate depends on the the channel. Usually 7-11 Mb/s for HD channels, SD channels 2-4 Mb/s.
