Only one of two tuners found

DVBLink TV Server for QNAP NAS is discussed here!

Only one of two tuners found

Postby quicky » Wed Dec 10, 2014 1:56 pm

Hi guys,

in the admin-panel of DVBLink I can only configure one of two available tuners. I restarted the server (first the DVBLink server and since this didn't help I also tried resetting the QNAP), but it didn't help.

Attached is the dmesg. Maybe that helps to identify the issue.

Btw: Both tuners are the same.

Cheers,

It seems that you forgot to make dmesg
but it would be better if you did the following,
- set the log level to info
- dvblink server restart
- go to tv sources tab (wait a few minutes)
- then attach zipped log file here

Nope, both are connected individually and directly to the QNAP.

Can you alternately connect your PCTV tuners directly to NAS to one of usb ports, to exclude breakage of one of them.

Either one of the tuners is broken or one of them is connected to USB3 port.

Just for the record: Both were on USB 3 but only one got detected. I put both on USB 2 now and it works perfectly :-)

As you could see: The issue was related to the USB3-Port, however I'm thinking about buying more tuners. As you were asking about a hub: Would a hub work in theory or is that not going to work? The answer is crucial as I would need to run the system with a hub in order to add mor tuners.

Thanks for feedback.

Yes, you can use a USB hub for adding more tuners.
