Oberon this is great news to hear from you (fingers crossed). I hope that as usual you will continue to support the same easy to find dvb-t USB sticks in Europe (Hauppauge, PCTV ...) and not QNAP's exotic fossils like Asus and Upmost :D .

Hi all,
very disappointed and frustrated and ANGRY, just finished correspondence with QNAP's support. According to these guys the needed fix in order DVBLink to work is going to be done somewhere around MARCH 2015. This was the product manager's statement. They are talking about F/W 4.2.x.

In that case "Oberon", PLEASE make bolded announcement in DVBLogic.com "NEWS" section that QNAP TS-x51/x53 are NOT supported and you do not know when and if they are going to be supported.

What a SHAME.

Unfortunately that's the way it is.
I can only add here that we are working on fundamental solution of the kernel compatibility issue. So eventually x51/53 models will be supported, but it will take at least 2-3 months on our side.

In the meanwhile you can use HDHomeRun or sat2ip tuners with DVBLink and QNAP x51/53 models/

Hi,

I have a TS-251 (firmware 4.1.2) and a Hauppage Win TV Nova-TD.
After digging a little I found that the Digital TV Station includes the DVB drivers, so:
I installed both the Digital TV Station and DvbLink TV server. And modified the init script of TV Station to not load tvheadend.
Basically edit the /etc/init.d/TvStation.sh and comment the line restart_tvheadend (around line 1269). Reboot after that.
After that the DvbLInk found my Nova-TD and I'm able to get channels and EPG data. But I can't stream any channel or recording.
I know that is a tricky way. But maybe we are close to get it before the new software will be released.
Someone can help to find why can't stream anything ?

regards

Josep

Hi,

finally I copied the modules from TvStation to DVBlink and is working like a charm.
1- cp /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/TvStation/modules/3.12.6/x86_64 /mnt/ko
2- remove TvStation package from NAS.
3- reboot NAS.

Now, I'm trying to install xbmc and the dvblink add-on in the TS-251.
Someone knows where to find the xbmc dvblink addon for the TS-251 ?

Thanks

Josep

Purchased a PCTV 461e USB DVB-S2 because it said QNap will support this. Now my TS-251 cannot make use of it (no sources found) obviously because the necessary driver/kernel updates that DVBLogic should provide are missing as these thread here says. Now 2 Weeks since last post, any news until when this will work? Time to give up hope?

It does not depend on us unfortunately. It purely depends on QNAP and their will to make (very small) changes to firmware.
You may acquire about the status directly at QNAP.

Hi all
this is QNAP's answer to my contentious question that I am asking - When they will make the necessary changes?:

Target not change, will fix at F/W 4.2.0
release date 2015/3.

Best regards,
Art Yang

Lets hope they will keep their promise

Hi,

to compile the xbmc add-on are the kernel changes needed ?
if not, is possible to have it and at least use our QNAP as a client ?

Thanks

I have TS-251 where I could install "DVBLink TV Server - Beta" (which is V5.0.0) an IP-TV client to view german t-entertain.
Everything runs perfect :D
But now evaluation time is terminating and I can't buy a licence for V5.0.0
I was discouraged to buy v5.1.0 which is offered when I click "buy license" because TS-251 is not in the list of supported systems.

Version 5.0.0 is also not officially supported on x51/53 QNAP NAS models. Licenses for v5.1 and v5.0 are compatible, so you can go ahead and purchase it if your system works as it should.

Hi,
is there any update regards to original topic to use it with a DVB-C source rather than with IP-TV,...

Based on Yaash answer i reached out again to Qnap as it is March now,.. but just got the answer from QNAP that it is not in there responsibility and depend on DVBLogic,...
Incredible this ping pong,.. and those different answers.
I m waiting since October for a solution,... ?

Any updates, please ?

here the original answer from the German Qnap support:
'Sehr geehrter Kunde,

QNAP Inc. Munich'

Hi, all
here is another portion from my correspondence with QNAP support, dated from 26.02.2015:
****************
Hi Alexander Yordanov:
as Product Manager's promise . F/W 4.2.0 should fix this issue. please wait it release. QA is testing now.
Best regards,

Art Yang
QNAP Systems, Inc.
****************

Lets wait and see WHAT and HOW they will fix.

P.S.:
Mirage-1, maybe there is no connection between different language support teams. Maybe German team is not aware what their colleagues from Taiwan are doing
