ReadyNAS OS 6.7.1 Released

ReadyNAS OS v6.7.1 was released yesterday:

https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyN ... -p/1273854

Given previous experiences of upgrading ReadyNAS OS breaking DVBLink, (amongst other things), has anyone tried this OS version, (pre-release)? I am using a ReadyNASS214 (ARM), and TV Butler tuners.

TIA

Paul

The TV Butler does not suffer from kernel changes in the NAS OS.
If server could be started and running, then TVButler (and network tuners) should work as well. As for other USB tuners, better to not rush with upgrade. (At least with the Netgear x86-64 based on OS6.7.1 works only TVBUtler and network tuners)

To answer my own question, the current version of TVServer (14072) etc works fine with ReadyNAS OS v6.7.1 on my RN214 (ARM). I am using TV Butler, Sat>IP and IP tuners and everything seems to be fine. :D

Alas, I'm using a e292 stick, which needs a new version of DVBLink every time Netgear issue an update....

Right, it's the USB drivers that tend to break when kernel versions change. I have both USB and network tuners, so I may take the plunge and upgrade OS just to see what happens. But often it's best to wait for a proclamation of safety or for a new build to match a new kernel.

TVSource build 14480 adds support for 6.7.1 firmware.

Trouble... I upgraded OS to 6.7.1 just fine. And I had DVBLink disabled during upgrade and reboot. But upon trying to upload the newly downloaded Server bits, it fails to do anything. I know the app update mechanism is working because I also applied a Plex update, so what's going on? Nothing at all is making it into install_debpkg.log and no apparent items showing up in journalctl -f.

Is anyone else having this same behavior?

For now I'm continuing to run old version (using network tuners) until this is sorted. :(

Just to clarify - you can't update DVBlink server or TVSource?

In cases where there is a Server update I've always been under the impression that it is best to apply that first and then follow up with other package updates within the Server package tool. If you're suggesting I do otherwise, I'm certainly glad to try it. I just don't want to wind up with a broken installation.

I'm not seeing the 14480 update referred to. Has it been pulled (temporarily) or is it not available on version 5.5.0 , which should still be supported...
