Update of DVBlink SERVER to 12217 - FAIL

Postby SmartyMarty » Fri Dec 11, 2015 1:08 pm

OK, so I updated DVBLink TV Source to 12217 OK, but then it said that my version of the Server produce was out-of-date, and provided a link to the new .deb file. I downloaded this OK.

Trying to update via the NetGear "App" page DOES NOT WORK. Browsing to the file and clicking upload results in the webpage loading for about 30sec and then... nothing happens.

I then tried uninstalling the DVBLink app and reinstalling. Same as above.

The 4.6.0 version will install from the NetGear "App Store" but I cannot get it to load any version of TV source, or enter my licence details.

So, now I have no working application at all: I cannot install the .deb for 5.5.0 (I tried my saved version of 11892 and that won't install either) and I cannot get the 4.6.0 version to upgrade itself to 5.5.0 either...

FYI my NAS is a Netgear 104, running 6.4.0 of OS6.

Anyone out there...?

Thanks for the replies, two questions:

1) As I've previously reported problems with the 119xx builds under 6.4.0, is everything working under 6.4.1 now?

2) If the answer to 1) is no, then I can enable SSH and follow some instructions...

No. Still need to rebuild the drivers.
#2
- connect to NAS via shh
- cd /apps/dvblink-tv-server/
- ./stop.sh
- vi config/dvblink_configuration.xml (be sure that you have the "2" log level: <log_level>2</log_level> ) ->save
- ./start.sh (Does the server start? )

OK, logged on via PUTTY.

I'm getting "no such file or directory" for /apps/dvblink-tv-server/, which is not surprising: As noted above, trying to install the 5.5.0 .deb file does nothing (nothing in the Netgear log file either) and I haven't installed the 4.6.0 file, so all I have installed is whatever was in my DVBLink share before I started the upgrade.

Do you want me to try install 4.6.0 from the Netgear UI?, or can I upload the 5.5.0 deb file through SSH/PUTTY somehow ;-)

The fact that you do not see any message or notification when trying to install dvblnk server app on netgear is "normal" - this is the way how netgera's ui works and behaves.
It is installed in the background, but without any notification regarding the process.

Well previously after installing, there is an entry in the log: "Application xxxxx successfully installed." - which pops up in the usual way. But today there was nothing - and the install wasn't working via the UI.

Issue now resolved, so thanks to The Man, but whether this is a NetGear OS/UI issue or something with the DVBLink .deb files is beyond my knowledge.

Is there a reason why the version in the NetGear app store is still 4.6.0? (Rhetorical question)

Actually the EPG isn't populating, so I think this may be the dlrecorder.db corruption issue again following an upgrade/install?

Are there instructions on how to resolve this on a NAS rather than a Windows server (as per your published link)?

The epg data are updated. All looks good.
Please, refresh the TV Guide tab once more.
Also you can go to Channels -> EPG Sources: Is there at "Available EPG sources" your TVSource?

OK - In the last couple of minutes it's gone from no EPG on any channel to fully populated. So, my apologies if I was too quick off the mark.

Yes, under channels/EPG Sources the "EPG Source" is set to my device source name and the individual channel EPG IDs are set to "libeitscanner:ffffff" (where ffffff=transponder frequency)

Great, and my recording schedule has read the EPG entries and scheduled the forthcoming occurrences correctly.

Thanks for the help.
