On hearing that you'd added support, I decided to finally go and get myself a 290e and try your setup on my Ultra 4 ( sadly not an Ultra Plus ), so I could finally try and watch Freeview HD on my Mac, as no one has yet added native support.

It took a bit of fighting with the setup, I'll admit it could be more intuitive, but I'm pleased to say that so far it appears to be working just fine, and I may well have to consider a purchase after trial.

Currently happily streaming Channel 4 HD to VLC on my mac.

Glad you got it working. Can you please describe the most not intuitive parts of the setup?

I spent a while clicking about Source setup before I finally figured how to make it 'active', for some reason the checkbox didn't spring out at me obviously when editing it, and then after that I didn't immediately spot the newly revealed tabs to find the setup for tuning. After I found those, rest of process went pretty smoothly. Admittedly, I didn't check for any instructions, just went in and fiddled till it worked.

edit: slight update, after more playing around and actually settling in, with VLC at least, the stream seems to just die after about 10-15 minutes.

Sometimes trying to restart it after this, reports that all tuners are occupied. Unsure where the issue is at this point.

Further testing, trying to stream to ps3, initially seems to work but no audio on HD channels, and similar freezing issue but much quicker. Stream just freezez, no error.

Hi, I thought I'd let you know that it's mostly working for me on a Readynas Pro2. Windows Media Center is a new one on me though, and not a happy experience. The default EPG is on the whole OK but I'm not getting anything on the HD Channels (UK), though they play and record OK. Some of the EPG is blank for HD (no programme blocks), and some of it is in blocks but with a very strange set of incomprehensible symbols. I assume the digiguide add-on will be released for x86 at some stage and maybe clear this up?

I also got the android app to work and it will schedule recordings successfully.

I'm using a PCTV 290e nanostick.

The digiguide addon will definitely fill this gap. It was released today as a part of DVBLink TV Server product suite for x86 NetGear NAS. You will get one DVBLink EPG Loader of choice for free when you buy the TVSource product (in your case it can be Digiguide). And the Digiguide yearly subscription costs only 3 pounds.

Thanks, I picked up the Digiguide addon and have now got it working too (though I had to manually allocate the HD channels as DVBlink wouldn't recognise them automatically by name or number).

Thanks very much.

Hi,

I got Elgato's eyetv sat tuner http://www.elgato.com/elgato/int/mainmenu/products/tuner/EyeTV-Sat/product1.en.html. This tuner is not on your list. Is there any chance that it will work with your DVBLink TV Server?

Thanks.

I have still yet to manage to stream TV to VLC for more than ~10 minutes before the stream just freezes, nothing in log files.

edit: and I say that, and immediately it then seems to start working ok.. see if it keeps up.

Hi. Guys

I am using this with the dreambox add on, it's been a while since I tried the dreambox option, used to used with dvblogic v2.x

All connected ok, but in the settings for the dreambox add on, what is the streaming port? I don't recall having to set this n earlier versions of the add on

Channels are detected ok, I can add channels to dvb server, but when I try preview a channel via vlc / web browser, no video, assuming I have to set the streaming port, no idea what it is though? Rtfm moment possibly.

Can you please set log level to info, reproduce the issue and attach zipped log file here please?
The streaming port is for some firmware distributions where it is set to a different value than default one.

It looks like you have DVBLink Network Client v4.5.1 or older and you try to use it with the server v4.5.2. This combination does not work - both client and server have to be v4.5.2.

Tried using XBMC to stream instead, exact same behaviour. Works just fine for a while, then stream just stops. It can usually be restarted, but this is quite frustrating, any ideas on what may be the cause or how to try and track down what's happening?
