TV-channels default to 2.0 audio, while 5.1 is present

After a channel-switch, the 2.0 audio stream is selected, while there is a 5.1 AC3 stream present. After selecting 5.1 stresm the audio is working perfectly but after the next channel-switch it is reverted back to 2.0 again.

I have configured HDMI device, and selected 5.1 channels, and enabled all audio-types to be supported by my AVR, and enabled passthrough.

What am i missing ?

Since Version 16 of KODI I notice the same effect. Now also in Version 17 Alpha 2.
When switching channel often times the MPEG-2 Audio stream (with 2 channels) is automatically selected instead of the exisiting Dolby Digital 2- or 5.1 Audio stream. I have this bevaviour on two seperate configurations. Up until Version 15.2 of KODI this worked properly.
Switching the Setting "Prefer default Audio stream" or in german "Standard-Tonspur bevorzugen" does not Change the bevyviour at all. Also switching the "Audio Output device" Setting between DIRECTSOUND and WASAPI does not Change this behaviour.

Does anybody noticed the same bevaviour? Does anybody have a solution?
Thanks for any Response.

Same here on my Raspberry PI 2 with LibreELEC (Kodi 16) and on my Ubuntu 14.04 machine.

I switched the Audio Stream while playback and tried to set it as default with no success. Any solution is highly appreciated ;-)
