I'm seeing this as well, although not all the time.... but certainly I've seen this happen 3 or 4 times over the last couple of weeks or so.

Just happened to me again, had been watching Live TV upstairs on a RPI Kodi Client all good, turned off and about half an hour later went to watch Live TV on my main HTPC (which also hosts DVBserver) went to the EPG to select the channel and once selected Kodi hangs and crashes.... Backend still up and running and able to connect via other clients...

full DVBLogic logs uploaded....

final line says:

Code: Select all
2016-Nov-30 20:17:52:   [E] playback_ns_client_t::playback_thread_func. failed to open 822a91f5-25e5-4709-aab1-bde12b4ec395:DA5F661E-540E-47B1-9DCC-3F40F5CB85CA/152-10060000-1472324400

not sure what that means?

I get occasional lock-ups in Kodi 17 too, but usually it's when (or just after) deleting a recording. Kodi becomes completely unresponsive and I have to shut down the NUC (Win 10) and restart. Once it's loaded up again, I see that the recording has in fact been deleted. I keep trying to get debug logs from Kodi but it never happens when I have debug mode on, I'll keep trying.

I have a problem with latest Kodi 17 beta 6: PVR Manager does not start up with DVBLink PVR Client 3.3.7 on Shield TV. Anyone else having this problem?

Same issue here. Two NUCs (libreelec) and the latest Kodi 17b6.

I get 1-2 lock ups per machine per day. They are either when I try to start LiveTV from the guide (the circle just spins forever), or trying to access RecTV (it never gets there). Hard reboot required.

Oberon & the_man, do you have any advice?

A few other issues...

I've noticed that Kodi freezes sometimes when I press the [STOP] button after watching a recorded TV show.

In my list of recorded programs I had a about twenty duplicates of one recorded show, I've deleted most of them from the Kodi interface but am left with 4 I can't delete.

Setting a series recording from Kodi seems really difficult, especially if I am trying to record new episodes only on a single channel. I'm completely confused - what is the difference between the record and timer dialogs presented in Kodi?

Despite the above issues, I'm sticking with Kodi & DVBlink as it seems to be generally stable. The interface is preferable to the ATV experience, but that is not down to DVBlink, I simply hate the Apple Remote and the fact that the ATV cannot be controlled from my Logitech Harmony.

Oberon & the_man,

It's very quiet our there...any chance that these issues might be resolved with the release of the next Beta?

Just chiming in, I also experience these issues exactly as solomalee describes with the version used in the latest beta. Win10 Nuc.

I tried out TVHeadEnd and it works without issue (no lockups) so I'll be switching to it in the new year. Support is just too slow here.

Hi Dvbguy,

what are you using for TV guide data? And which satellite are you pointing at?

I once tried TV Headend, but never figured out how to get a good EPG. With the demise of Windows MCE, I now have to move to something (that works flawlessly).

My subscription for Dvblink's guide data is due to expire soon and if this Kodi option doesn't work out, I shall have to look at alternatives sooner rather than later.

It's a shame because in general, DVBlink is a nice stable back end.

For the record...I've now updated to Libreelec 7.90.010 and the issues remain as before :-(

Same issue here. NUC with latest libreelec and newest DVBLink addon. All updates did not solve the problem. No news on this?

My 2 cents with DVBLink and Kodi 17.

On both my MIBox and Nexus Player, live TV is unwatchable. As soon as I select a program from the guide, the channel starts, but within 5 sec the live stream starts to lock up and stutter and Kodi starts to become unresponsive.

There is also green garbled pixilations in the bottom RH corner of the live stream. I have played around to no end with Kodi settings, but I can't get it to work.

The only solution for me is to revert back to Kodi 16 on both devices. I noticed that the add-on in Kodi 17 is a different version to that of Kodi 16.

Finally, on my PC with Kodi 17, the live stream is fine. I can only think that the add-on and android do not work correctly.
