Sleep looses DVBLink Recordings and Timer lists in KODI 15

Postby AEBogdan » Wed Nov 18, 2015 7:03 pm

Using Kodi 15.2 Isengard on a Windows 10 machine. DVBLink runs on a Synology NAS. If the Windows machine goes to sleep with Kodi up and running, when the computer wakes there are messages in Kodi about deleting recordings. The Recordings list and the Timer lists are now totally empty and no recorded shows can be watched or timers changed. If I exit Kodi and restart it the lists return.

Is it 100% reproducible issue for you? Did it happen earlier (with lower windows/Kodi version ) ?

100% repeatable. Even tried it on a second machine that has a fresh install of KODI with only the DVBLink PVR added to rule out it being another plug-in. Upon returning from sleep it does not allow access to recordings and in fact removes them all from the list as if they have vanished. The guide is fine and channels can be watched, so it is reaching DVBLink fine. Recordings return to the list upon restarting KODI, so it appears to be something like a timing issue with verifying the recording list when KODI regains focus after waking up?

Everything seemed to be working previously, but we have been busy lately and not watching as much TV daily, so I can't say exactly when this started.

Only big change I can think of is that Windows 10 just had a big service patch a few days ago.

Ok, i'll try to reproduce this issue. Thanks for investigation.
But at first look seems that it's kodi issue.

Found someone else who was having this exact problem with DVBLink and Kodi earlier in the year.

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=221778

It appears to be an ongoing bug either in Kodi or the plug-in, but there is a workaround by setting up Kodi Launcher to shutdown and restart Kodi when the computer sleeps and wakes.

A fix would be better, but this will hopefully get around the issue for now.

I've just added this issue into our todo list. But any ETA at the moment, because most probably it's Kodi issue. After PC's wake up Recordings/timers lists are empty, but after a while (approximately 3 minutes) all entries appears without any movements.
