Accidental Deletion of ALL TV Recordings

Postby shanemarsh28 » Wed Sep 02, 2015 6:03 pm

Hi,

Recently, my less IT Savvy family have managed to delete all the TV recordings in one go?!?! The way I think this happened is when they have tried deleting a folder of TV recordings they deleted it using the back link at the top (see screenshot) rather than going back one step (as you should do) and delete the named folder. My theory is that if you press delete while on that back link, it effectively deletes the entire tree of folders above it - which results in the total loss of your entire recordings library!!!!!!

Can anyone confirm this is the case? I'll be honest, I'm a bit reluctant to test this!!!! If so, please fix on the next release.

All clients, both windows and Openelec are on PVR version: 1.9.13.1.

Kind regards,

Shane

I use, dvblink v5.5 and dvblink PVR 1.10.9, and i can't confirm this behaviour.
The only possible way for massive deleting of recordings is delete folder of series recordings. ( but not the way you've described )

Hi the_man, Thank you for your reply.

Where did you get your updated PVR from? Again - this might be because mine is outdated. I have the latest PVR listed on the dvblogic.com website. I've also not seen any updates on the forum. Is yours Beta?

Kind regards,
Shane

The latest DVBLink PVR Addon is V1.10.9 And it should be in the list of available Addons at Kodi itself ( But only for Kodi 15.x)
Also you can try to do next steps:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kodi-pvr-dvblin
NETGEAR RNDU2000; Synology DS112j, DS 212j, DS213+, DS 712+; Western Digital WD ex2; Asustor AS3, RPI2 ...
PCTV 460,461e,292e; TT 4400, 4650CI;DVBSKy S960; DD octopus net; Inverto sat2ip multibox; TBS DVB-C ...

Ahh that makes sense.

I've been reluctant to upgrade to Kodi v15+ because there is no stable Openelec version yet and I've read about a lot of instabilities with this version and DVB link.

Is everything stable for you?

Kind regards,
Shane

All works pretty good for me with [Beta] OpenELEC 5.95.4 ( Kodi 15.1 ) and DVBLink PVR addon V1.10.9 on the Raspberry PI 2.
