With which client (hardware) do you have the least problems?

Hi,

I'm trying to setup out-of-the-box KODI installations (wife/kids) just to watch Live-TV and Recordings.
(obviously the only KODI adjustment is to enable and configure the DVBLink PVR-addon).
The web interface is used to schedule recordings on a (dedicated) server (Win8 with DD-card)

I've tried different clients with various KODI builds (14, 15):
+ Intel NUC (win8)
+ ARM (Android)
+ RasPi 2 (openElec)

While Live-TV is working fast and well all of the clients have problems with Recordings, e.g.:
+ black screens,
+ freezing picture,
+ empty recording lists,
+ during rewinding/ffwding player sometimes jumps back to (empty) recording list
+ Timeshift sometimes stops at the end of original recording time

With which client do you have the least problems?

Of your above clients, I would say loading OpenElec on your NUC would be the best option. I use DVBlink PVR add-on a Chromebox running Openelec and don't see any of the issue you describe below. If you are not already doing so, use ethernet connection and not wireless.

Have you ever encountered the "black screen channel switching"-error on your Chromebox:
