Zapping + grid EPG

Nice work on the xbmc addon. I've been trying 4.5.1 for a few days now (updated from 3.2.2). Considering pro's and con's Windows Mediacenter vs XBMC + DVBLink Addon.
All channels (NL, Ziggo) seem to been working but they can only be selected from EPG. Live Tv tunes to the channel watched last. Haven't found functionality for zapping (channel up/down).
The EPG presentation should be in grid view I think. But this is also addressed in another topic.
It's not yet suitable for 'family use'. But this certainly is a step in the right direction.

+1

I will use XBMC permanently as soon the grid and zapping function is realized.

For me XBMC has more functions and more stability, better performance on a slower PC.
Better interface, more individual settings possible, and so on.

Keep up the good work Oberon, and the members of Team DVBLogic.
If it ain't Dutch it ain't that much.

Yes, EPG grid and better XBMC integration are key issues before it can replace VMC. And after that timeshifting....

What do you mean exactly under "better XBMC integration"?

I think he may mean by having our backend use the default menus, epg screen and recorded tv screen that XBMC uses rather than running it as a separate add on program

Exactly, Tv should be on The xbmc Home meny. Maybe live tv, epg, recordings etc as submenus under TV.

I think you can already do that with Aeon Nox skin by using "Customiser" menu of it.

I'm using the XBMC nightly build and this has New PVR addition with Live TV on the menu bar, the DVBlink plugin makes use of this and works OK to a point, extremely slow to change channel, however expect some quirks and errors in the functionality as these Are the nightly builds. XBMC have not developed their own plugin version for DVBLink as yet.
