XBMC Frodo PVR Addon

Postby BtbN » Fri Nov 23, 2012 1:04 am

To finaly stop hijacking the other thread, i'm creating this new one.

You can find my addon on github: https://github.com/BtbN/xbmc-pvr-dvblink
I also try to keep an up-to-date binary Windows version in the download section: http://btbn.de/xdvb/
You need vs2012 redist to run my compiled version: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=30679

If you want to run this on a Non-Windows XBMC, please note that the Timeshifting is completely untested and very likely broken there.

The addon is feature-complete. This just means every function the XBMC PVR api provides is implemented(live tv, epg, recordings, timers).

Timeshifting is implemented as a simple file-buffer. The entire stream is written to a file, and read back from there. The buffer file might get quite huge if you watch the same channel for a longer time. So set it on a drive with enough free space and a not that bad read/write rate. HD Channels are ~1.5MB/s, which are written and read back at the same time.

Although i'm using this addon in my private HTPC setup, it's very likely that there are bugs left. Specialy in the timer/recordings feature, as i don't use that very much.
I'd recommend not adding/modifiying timers via XBMC, as the way XBMC handles timers is diffrent from the way DVBLink does, but adding timers from EPG should work fine.

It does not even try to load my addon, so it can't be related to my addon.

It doesn't help me so much :)

I'm going to test with another version of XBMC...

Please post a full log with debug enabled. The PVR api is frozen, the addon works with all up to date XMBC version.
from the short log you posted it does not look like your problem is related to my addon in any way.

First test : Compil Nov 22 2012 -> no response : Addon is notified active but no access
Second test : Compil Nov 23 2012 -> no response : Addon is notified active but no access
Third test : Beta 1 repack : addon works well.

I can start and stop recording a chanel by selecting it in the EPG but Recordings don't appeared in the Recording Menu (it seems that the directory for the recordings is wrong)

I can't help you if you don't post a debug log...
Btw, you most likely don't see the new recording as XBMC does not update the recording list very frequently.

Definitly not related to my Addon. It does not even call the ADDON_Create function, so none of my code is run. Maybe the nightly is just broken.

Might have found a crash-bug which was triggered by a change in the latest nightlys.
I re-uploaded the binary version, could you please try if it works now?

No idea, but isn't it just a normal linux, just on a diffrent arch? Just try it, building on linux is no problem, only timeshifting is very experimental there.
