Hi,
I thaught it would be faster, but the app has been sent to validation yesterday night, and it is still in "preprocessing"...
I also need to do a credit card validation, which has been launched yesterday too, but I didn't get any code for now...

Because of thoses points, I would be happy to have some alpha-testers, for who I would send the package manually.

Just a quick new : I got my developper account verified just now, app is still in validation (I don't know if it was waiting or not for account validation).
However, I've added code to the app, so it is very likely that the app will be updated as soon as it gets published by Microsoft.

Hi,

I didn't make it through validation! I'm working on some points, but validation report isn't very clear, it seems like the tester didn't even tried to install DVBLogic Connect! Server...
I'm thinking about letting my server up for the next days, I hope this will be enough

I will post some news as soon as I get them ;)

Mika.

Edit: Application sent again to validation, I have updated all points that were on the report, I hope this will be enough!

Hi,

Last version didn't make it through validation, because they say it hang... No one ever had any problem with the app...
I'm waiting for 1.4 to be done to send it to validation, you can see the progress on the bugtracker

You can also download a developper version (1.3) on the bugtracker, all instructions are on the wiki tab

Hi,

V1.4 released. As always, waiting for Microsoft, and available on http://dvblink.redmine.niloo.fr/projects/dvblink-win8/
Changelog

Mika.

Ps : I've set up a tiny server that emulates DVBLink Connect! Server API so Microsoft shouldn't have any problem validating it

Looks good. I'm not running windows 8 (yet) but would like to know if your app accepts remote control input?

Hi,

I don't think the app supports it (at least I haven't done anything for this, if Windows 8 supports it by design then it should work)
However, I have got several Media Center remotes at home, so I could give it a try, and maybe code it, but I can't guarantee it, nor give you an ETA

Great to see someone is working on this app!

Does it use the webstream (transcoded) streams? Or the full DVB streams?

Hi,

Technicaly, the app lets you choose between raw stream and transcoded stream
In France, SD channels uses MPEG-2, HD uses MPEG-4, and none of the two codecs are builded with Windows 8, so raw stream doesn't work

It is possible to ship codecs with an app, however this is far from my competance domains for now, and I would need to find free codecs (MPEG is not royalty free) like libx264 (and find how to integrate them)

Mika.

Ps : App has been in validation for 6 days, I should get an answer tomorrow, I hope so
