have you considered usual grid guide instead of the single channel list ?

Its hard to go back to the list guide if you've gotten used to the grid guide for years and years ....

Building a grid-based guide is a lot of more work and requires a bit more knowledge about XBMC...
But I'll keep your suggestion in mind. :)

Do you mean like this?

21:00 (Now)
Great rift: Africa's wild heart
Description bla bla bla...

21:50 (Next)
Tiger: Spy in the jungle
Description bla bla bla...

Yepp that's what I mean, even though I would like it better sideways but then it almost becomes a grid guide.
When it comes to grid guide maybe you can find some ideas and code if you look at a dreambox plugin : graph multi epg, I believe it's python.

teddan I've been looking around the XBMC forum for a Dreambox add-on but I did not find anything with a multi-grid program guide.
Do you know of a add-on for Dreambox which has this functionality?
If so could you please supply me with a link or a name and I will take a look. :)

Sorry DSD, If I mislead you.
What I meant was a plugin on the dreambox itself, it has absolutely nothing to do with xbmc. Anyhow if you don't got a db it might not give you anything just by looking at the code, but here is link and pic in the attachment.

Great stuff, works great, but I seem to have subtitles and can't turn them off.

Am I missing something.

Thanks :)

If you press Enter while watching a channel and select Audio and subtitles you should be able to turn them off.
XBMC plays the stream as is and the stream is a regular Transport stream and if subtitles are included XBMC should pick it up automatically.
There is also the kind of subtitles that are built-in, those subtitles are fixed and cannot be removed.

Thank you found it under audio settings, subtitles now gone.

Much better than using the streams in WMP.

Great work, I will be following this one closely.

Can't get it to work. Get an error, if I try to start the addon. Somesing like "Script Error" stands in the upper line... :(

If you could check the xbmc.log file for further information it would help.
The log-file can be found here:
%appdata%\xbmc

Put the path above into the File Explorer and you can find the xbmc.log file and attach the log-file in a post and I will take a look.

The error handling in the add-on is not that good, but I will try to make it better in the next version.

Just posting to say that the plugin does not work with RaspBMC (XBMC on the Raspberry Pi). The plugin installs fine but when pulling in the list of channels it stalls for a while, then wakes up again, but it will not stream any video, eventually crashing XBMC and requiring a forced restart.

I've not been able to get a hold of a Raspberry Pi, they seem to be very popular.
So far I have only tested the add-on on XBMC 11 (EDEN) on Windows and Apple TV 2 and both worked fine.

Do you know if there is any error reported or anything in the xbmc.log file?

Hi

I'll have a look at this in a bit, the wife has me doing chores at the moment, she clearly doesn't understand there are more pressing things for me to deal with

Not sure if there's anything immediately obvious from this.

What format is video sent to remote clients in? If it is as-broadcast then the reason it does not work on the Pi is the lack of MPEG2 codec, if it is transcoded, then I'm at a loss...

No, it is not transcoded. It is sent as is - depending on the channel it can be mpeg-2 or h264 video.
