Yes, Yes, Yes!!! :D

Now I have a better dvblink support in the linux media center. THANK YOU!
It is a much better solution than streaming via UPNP.

I'm dreaming of being able to use XBMC just like WMC as a client (with EPG grid and so on) but this is a very good solution.

I have attached the translated version. I made some minor corrections on the Dutch text too, mostly to maintain the standard naming convention used by DVBLogic for the 'DVBLink Connect!Server'.

Also, what is the original text for ID '30600'? It seems that this sentence could be translated a bit better.

Thank you for the translation. Regarding ID 30600, there are some texts which are not being used and 30600 is one of these.
Since I based the DVBLink add-on on a already existing add-on a few of the texts that was used in that add-on is still present in DVBLink.

There are plans on adding support for a EPG grid of some sort, but since it's a big undertaking I've waited with this one for now.
I believe that the TS-stream is streamed when using UPNP, this is the same as when watching the add-on. Although in the next version there will be
support for transcoding as well.

DSD: I get a script error when running the latest add-on in XBMC Eden. Please find attached my xbmc.log, maybe it reveals the error.

My recommendation would be to remove the add-on completely and then download it again and install it.
When reading through the log-file it's apparent that XBMC cannot load the add-on, I've never seen this error before.

Thanks for the suggestion, I am going to try that.

I should have added that I am on DVBLink 4.5 RC3!

No problem, I'm glad it worked. :)

I've not tested the add-on on version 4.5 of DVBLink Connect Server.
Let me know if something is not working.

hey, i just wanted to add my support for this, just got a raspberry pi and it looks like a ideal client. is the version with mpeg2 channel transcoding available yet? if so i'd really like to try it out, if not happy to wait. because i see this as a potential full client for the Connect Server i would absolutely add support for a full grid epg plus PVR integration in future builds if possible. this would be fantatstic!

Hi, all
Need help interpreting this error code:
Code: Select all
08:03:56 T:6016   ERROR: Error Type: <class 'common.DVBLinkError'>
08:03:56 T:6016   ERROR: Traceback (most recent call last):

                                                load_channels() #deviceconfiguration()
                                              File "C:\Users\WildCard\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\plugin.video.dvblink\default.py", line 208, in load_channels
                                                raise ex
                                            DVBLinkError: 1001
08:03:56 T:5888   ERROR: XFILE::CDirectory::GetDirectory - Error getting plugin://plugin.video.dvblink
08:03:56 T:5888   ERROR: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory(plugin://plugin.video.dvblink) failed

What's error 1001?

Is there a FAQ that lists the error code so perhaps we can try troubleshoot first?

FYI, running this on Windows 7 (Ultimate 64) XBMC 11.0 Eden on
DVBLink Server 3.2.1
DVBLink Network Pack 3.2.1
DVBLink TVSource 3.2.2

Thanks all.

Here's the error codes:

o STATUS_OK = 0
o STATUS_ERROR = 1000
o STATUS_INVALID_DATA = 1001
o STATUS_INVALID_PARAM = 1002
o STATUS_NOT_IMPLEMENTED = 1003
o STATUS_MC_NOT_RUNNING = 1005
o STATUS_MC_NOT_RUNNING = 1005
o STATUS_NO_DEFAULT_RECORDER = 1006
o STATUS_MCE_CONNECTION_ERROR = 1008

I've not tested this add-on on version 3.2 only 4.1.
There's a possibility that the Remote API which I'm using is not fully supported in version 3.2...

Well I might take a look (no promises) at porting the add-on to Plex once the XBMC add-on is finished.
But there's still a lot of things to develop for the XBMC add-on...

My guess is that since Plex is based on XBMC there should be some similarities between the two when creating add-ons.

Thank you very much for your instant reply.

I hope it will be ported with little effort. But sadly I have some doubts. I did some research for plugin portings and apparently XBMC far more capable than Plex especially with it comes to Eden. (API wise)

Anyway thank you again; good luck and take your time ;)

By the way Why I'm using Plex: Because of MyPlex concept and anywhere any device capabilities far better than XBMC for me. Just trying to encourage you :)

@DSD

I can't get your script to work, I have tried it on Raspberry Pi and a normal Windows 7 instalation. Everytime I get a script error.

This is the snippet from my log file:
Code: Select all

                                                raise ex

If you need more info or testing let me know... Would love to get it working on my Raspberry Pi.. :)
