can't connect to local box (localhost/127.0.0.1) on other machine no problems
any idea version is 1.2.1

According to the error code which is 1006 you need to set a default recorder in MCE.
STATUS_NO_DEFAULT_RECORDER = 1006

I've improved the error handling in the coming version so that error such as this are presented with a more descriptive message directly in XBMC.

Here's some information about changes/features that will be available in the coming version:

- Improved errorhandling for DVBLink error, they are now presented in plain text.
- Some changes has been made to how channel names are handled this due to channels with special characters.
- You can now turn on/off subtitles when streaming a channel if subtitles are supported, a new setting is added.
- Added support for transcoding using the protocol RTSP and MPEG4 and AAC audio. A new section is added in settings by which you can control height, width, bitrate and audio track.
- The DVBLink Client ID can now be changed through settings, this is usable when running several devices with the add-on.

Since there is a lot of new settings in the add-on I would be very grateful if I could get some help translating these settings to the languages (Dutch and German) that are support by the add-on.
If someone want to add support for a different language then please let me know.

Also I'm thinking about releasing a test version so the add-on can be tested on Raspberry PI.

That's strange, is the channel list completely empty?
Have you tried connecting to the DVBLink Connect Server through a web browser (try connecting on the computer running DVBLink by entering http://localhost:8080) and do you get any channels then?

I think you have to get WMC working correctly before trying the XBMC add-on.
Since the add-on uses EPG from WMC you have to have WMC running correctly.

@DSD,
I can test it after this weekend if you want.

Hi All

Im keeping a close eye on this topic as Im keen to rollout xbmc throughout the house using the recoding capability and being quite lazy has anyone posted any videos of DVBLink via XBMC anywhere - be good to see it in action before I try.

Also any feedback on the realistic usability of RaspberryPi or simailr in this scenario

Thanks

There's currently no support for scheduling recordings in the XBMC add-on and the new recording capabilities that are available in the next version of DVBLink Connect Server are not available through the DVBLink API yet.

I might consider adding support for scheduling a recording via the add-on if there's a demand for it.

I'll try and make a youtube video of the XBMC add-on in action.

On my test box I use win xp mce 2005 without any configuration of WMC and it works with no problems (am not using EPG)

Sorry am not programing guru but isn't a idea for epg is to be get from TS parser, as dvb subtitles stream,
not from any other program with will consume more time and cpu power?

The main thing is that all the info for the EPG is handled by the DVBLink Connect Server and the Remote API which I'm using in the add-on.
So whether I use EPG or not the API is still going to start MCE in order to get EPG, because it always do.
Since having the option to look at a channels EPG is very convenient I added this to the add-on.

I'm also looking into adding a multi channel EPG, but since this is a major undertaking, I've put this on the back-burner for now.

Thanks, you can download the xml-file from here: http://www.dsd.se/xbmc/translations/dutch/strings.xml
This xml.file contains all the dutch translations. Some of the text is already translated to dutch.

I'm not 100% satisfied with the new version regarding transcoding so I'm going to work on it a bit longer before I release a test version.

I have attached the translated version. I made some minor corrections on the Dutch text too, mostly to maintain the standard naming convention used by DVBLogic for the 'DVBLink Connect!Server'.

Also, what is the original text for ID '30600'? It seems that this sentence could be translated a bit better.
