DVBLINK PLAYER and sat>ip

Postby Detlef » Wed May 31, 2017 8:21 pm

In the description of the Player one of features is "Network tuners (sat>ip and HDHomeRun)". Does this mean I can access my SAT-IP Server from the player?
If yes - I can't get it run. It always asks for an adrress of a dvblogic server. If not - what do you mean with this point?
My SAT-IP Server is a Kathrein EXIP 414
Sorry - but I havn't found a forum for the player so I post my question here.

The DVBlink player has an own a local dvblink-server service, which seems is not started.
Please, go to Windows services, find there a dvblink-server service and start it manually, then restart the DVBlink Player.
Then check your sat2ip tuners at the Sources tab.

Also there in the properties if the dvblink-server service you may set: Start with the delaying. It should help with the further starts/restarts of the DVBlink player .

PS.
To open Windows Services, Run services.msc to open the Services Manager. Here you will be able to start, stop, disable, delay Windows Services.
Right-click on your Start button to open the WinX Menu. Select Run. This opens the Run box. Now type services.msc in it and hit Enter to open the Services Manager.

Thanks for the quick answer - unfortunally I have installed it inside a virtual machine OS is Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 with the provided deb package.
How do I start the server there?

On the linux systems try to find the DVBLink Server installation folder (it could be: /usr/local/bin/dvblink-server/)
and there should be a scripts for start/stop dvblink service.
I guess you need to start the ./start2.sh

I have finally found the solution. I was confused about the download possibilities and had downloaded the dvblink viewer.
Because I went to the wrong download section.
But after going through try and error on the windows machine I finally got it running on the linux box without the plugin error from the windows installation.
My windows experience you will find inside a new topic.
Thanks for your help.
