DVBLink Player is full software and DVBLink is shareware?

Postby Plantje » Mon Apr 03, 2017 8:01 am

I don't really get it... On the Kodi forum someone had issues with the DVBLink EPG in Kodi. While some scheduled recordings were visible in the DVBLink EPG in Kodi they were not marked as scheduled to be recorded. So, I was looking to find a different front end than Kodi to see what happens there. I thought DVBLink Player was just a front end player, but if I look at the application it seems a full blown backend that can be installed for free! What do I miss here? Could I have saved the money and just install DVBLink Player on my main machine that holds the DVB-C tuners?

And if I look at this page: https://dvblogic.com/en/player/ I notice that DVBLink is shareware. Then what have I paid for? Most likely I am just missing something :)

DVBLink Player is a local application. It works only on a single system and only with a DVBLink Viewer frontend. There are also some other limitations as shown in the comparison chart:

Thanks for clearing that up! I missed the "local only" part.
