Win8.1 RTM: no channels are detected in WMC

Postby Oberon » Fri Oct 18, 2013 9:26 am

Those who installed Win8.1 RTM and have issue that no channels are detected in Windows MediaCenter should install GA Rollup A. That should fix the issue.

I have installed this rollup, but am still having the same issue. I tried adding the tuners again and scanning for channels, none found. Note that dvblink seems to be functioning normally t5hrugh the web browser configuration page.

Then create a separate topic for that.

Is DVBLink addon present in MCE Extra's? Can you start it?

Do you have .channel_data file(s) in the dvblink installation folder?

It has nothing to do with the channels in MCE.
I assume that you have added all 8 tuners in mce, right?
Do Settings -> TV -> Scan for new services and see if it finds the channels.
As for your event viewer issues, create a separate topic and attach zipped dvblink log with info log level there.

I'm updating a friends machine and have just run into this problem.

They are running Windows 8.1 x64, they have installed the GA Rollup 1.

In Media Centre all 8 tuners are found and setup, yet when I try to 'Scan For New Channels' it finds nothing. Same if I run 'Settings -> TV -> Scan For New Services'.

Any idea what can be done?

Just to confirm Windows Update downloaded the GA Rollup to my client machine on 30/09/2013 and can't be uninstalled.

I'm experiencing the same issue, all the tuners are found, but no channels are found. Add on present in Extras menu and appears to execute.

Let me know if there's any additional information I can provide if it will help to work out what's (not) happening :)

Cheers
