Decreasing dropouts

Postby matturn » Sat May 19, 2012 12:34 am

Is there any way to decrease dropouts on the iOS client?

When I have my iPhone 3GS sitting on my wireless router, with no other wireless traffic and am doing nothing else on my server computer, and have the bitrate and resolution on their lowest settings, and neither my CPU or RAM are peaking, I still get dropouts.

When I use Splashtop Streamer, I get a consistent smooth rendering of any onscreen video.

I get the same. Either dropouts or garbled screen.

All SD channels work fine but HD channels are impossible to watch. My server machine is iCore7 2.8Ghz x4, with 8Gb RAM and MCE7 + DVBLink suite are only software installed on the machine ( it is HTPC after-all ). During streaming CPU is showing remarkably low usage (30% or so )
I'm under impression they are using old/er version of ffmpeg that was not ready for prime time yet.

I have the same issues as well with similar server setup. Any ideas on how to fix this??

I second that. SD working fine. HD impossible to watch due to too many dropouts. Have an core i5 2500k. Fmpeg sitting still at 25% when streaming HD channels. Seems not to be able to make use of multicore :(?
