Channel Sub-Numbering

Postby Myles » Thu Jan 25, 2018 7:04 am

Hi

I create my own .m3u playlist in the format below so it works in both DVBLogic IPTV via Win Media Centre & also in Kodi.

Code: Select all
#EXTINF:200 tvg-name="200" tvg-id="EPG_ID" tvg-logo="Logo.png" tvg-shift="0" group-title="Group",BBC (UHD)
http://streampath/stream.ts
#EXTINF:200.1 tvg-name="200.1" tvg-id="EPG_ID" tvg-logo="Logo.png" tvg-shift="0" group-title="Group",BBC (HD)
http://streampath/stream.ts
#EXTINF:200.2 tvg-name="200.2" tvg-id="EPG_ID" tvg-logo="Logo.png" tvg-shift="0" group-title="Group",BBC
http://streampath/stream.ts

As you can see, when I have the same channels, but in different definitions, I number them accordingly UHD=200, HD=200.1 and SD=200.2 this way the channels are organised by best stream definition first to worst definition.

Unfortunately, when the channels are imported into DVBLogic IPTV the sub numbering (.#) is lost and they are all numbered 200.

The sub-number formatting can be manually entered within DVBLogic and will filter through to Windows Media Centre fine but they won't import into DVBLogic IPTV.

Is there any chance this is achievable or can this be added into future versions?

My Setup:
DVBLink Server 6.0.0 - 14499
DVBLink for IPTV 6.0.0 - 13107
DVBLink TVSource 6.0.0 - 14061

Thanks in advance
Myles

DVBLink doesn't support extended m3u's yet. Only plain m3u is supported like :

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Channel name
http://server.adress/streamname.ts

More info in your m3u is ignored by DVBLink.
Let me remind you, "-1" is used to define in the program that reads your m3u, that your stream has an undefined endtime (live stream).
It is NOT used for channel numbering, like you did in your example.

All the setup, concerning channel numbering, logo setup, favorite groups etc, is done with the admin configuration interface of DVBLink itself and NOT in the m3u.
DVBLink server 6.0.0 build14499, DVBLink TVSource 6.0.0 build14061, DVBLink for IPTV build 13107
Kodi 18.0-ALPHA1 Git:20180125-7379a75, Win10 Pro x64 1709 build16299.125

The program reading the m3u is DVBLogic IPTV and when the m3u is formatted as per the below the channel numbers are imported.

Code: Select all
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:200,Channel name
http://server.adress/streamname.ts

Yet using the -1 suggested format you manually have to enter the channel number. Also, with DVBLogic IPTV is the -1 even required?
Code: Select all
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Channel name
http://server.adress/streamname.ts

So, seeing as the m3u file can be configured (as shown above) to import the channel numbers, my original question about being able to use sub-numbering could be a feature for future versions.

All that would be required is for DVBLogic to recognise everything before the , is a channel number (even ones with ###.# format) and everything after the , is a channel name.
