EPG Not Updating

Postby ego1138 » Sun Dec 31, 2017 5:15 am

New user here .. .
With my IPTV service, I get an XMLTV file for the EPG.

If I click on the link in the browser, the XML file comes up just fine.
When I put it into the EPG setting on DVBLink . .. it appears to take it, but it never updates.
If I download the file manually from my browser and put it in the C:\ProgramData\DVBLogic\DVBLink\xmltv directory, the EPG seems to update.
So the issue appears to be that the software isn't downloading the XMLTV file.

Is there something I'm missing, or that I can do to troubleshoot this further?

Thanks

Hi, If I m right, that's the correct way it should work, you have 1st to put the xml file in the directory of dvblink IPTV, and then put the address in the settings, and EPG will update correctly, by overwriting the xml file.

That's kind of what I thought based on reading in the forums, but . . . that doesn't seem to be the case. I have to keep overwriting the file manually every day. If I don't download it manually, it doesn't seem to update.

I don't know if this is related, but I used to use rytec as source files for my EPG, and it seems they changed the format of the files from .gz to .xz recently...
As you can see in this forum in french: http://www.dzsat.org/forum/f437/tuto-ip ... 42-14.html
Could there be an update of dvblink for iptv adding support for the new rytec format?

Thanks in advance,
Felix

I don't believe it's related to a format change, as if I download my XML manually and put it in the folder, the EPG updates. It just won't do the download on it's own.

Are we able to contact DVBLogic directly for support, or is this our only forum?

FYI, I did contact support, and after going through the logs, it was found that because the URL for my M3U file had a username and password in it, the software couldn't handle it. They're looking into seeing whether a future update may accomodate that or not.

I guess you mean your xml download URL has a username and password in it, because your m3u has nothing to do with your xml download

In the new server version links to M3U or XMLTV which have a username and password in it will work.
