iptv slight change of address

Postby cue1boy » Thu Aug 24, 2017 10:26 am

Hi, I really hope there is a solution to this problem.
My iptv provider is regularly changing ip address slightly.
For example the below address has now changed to http://meowyapmeow.com:8585/xmltv.php?
http://meowyapmeow.com:4745/xmltv.php?
This causes all saved channels (about 200) to disappear and I have to reselect them all again etc. which is very time consuming on 2 machines.
Is there a way to restore saved channels after an ip change.
I know I can backup my entire setup and restore but this backs up the old ip address which is no good.

I'm curious too, if it is possible to edit the backup.xml where IPTV URL's are stored, and restore the backup with the new partly changed URL.

@the_man :
In the backup xml we have :

<logical_channel>
<childlock>0</childlock>
<type>TV</type>
<number>3001</number>
<subnumber>0</subnumber>
<name>IPTVchannelname</name>
<logo_id></logo_id>
<frequency>34380000</frequency>
<physical_channel>
<number>-1</number>
<subnumber>0</subnumber>
<type>TV</type>
<id>http://serveradress:portnumber/username/userpass/streamnumber.ts:&lt;IPTVchannelname&gt;</id>
<control_id>aaaaaaaa-bbbbb-cccc-dddd-eeeeeeeeeeee</control_id>
<name>IPTVchannelname</name>
<altid>http://serveradress:portnumber/username/userpass/streamnumber.ts</altid>
<fta>1</fta>
<sync>0</sync>
</physical_channel>
</logical_channel>

Is it possible to edit parts in this backup xml, like serveradress or username & password ?
I see that the <control_id> is the IPTV source, but are there more dependencies if we change parts of the <id> and <altid> ?

Because if this works, we can easily change server or username & password with FIND & REPLACE in Notepad++ in the backup xml file, restore the edited file to the server, without setting up the IPTV channels from scratch again....

Thanks for the response.
Very interesting, I will test out what you said and see if it works out ok.
Hope it does, it will save a lot of time in the future.

Let me know, when you have tested it, if it works :)

Another possible way (and shorter way), is to edit "dvblink_channel_storage.xml"

But before you do that:

1) Make backup
2) Stop the service of the DVBLink server with "stop_server.bat"

After edit, restart server with "start_server.bat"

It is a great idea, but I would be happier if the developers could provide us a more elegant solution. There are other topics with similar problems :-(
