Stream not responding

Postby joshy123 » Thu May 19, 2016 1:54 am

When using iptv if the stream doesnt work when it first loads it stops, but if its playing for abit and the stream suddenly stops it doesn't stop it just sits busy which prevents going to another channel, Is it possible to add some sort of check that if its stopped receiving any bitrate it stops it its been sitting like this for over 24 hours ?

I suppose you are asking for a timeout of the stream when it's not receiving data?

I would also like to have a manual way of terminating the stream from the monitoring tab. @Oberon, any reason to not implement this?

yeah pretty much, only way to stop the stream at the moment is to stop dvblink from running and restarting

I have used this product for years with dvbc tuners and it was working great.
I switched to IPTV and have this issue for while now, the 0 bit stream in a hanging state and need to restart dvbserver to fix it.

@Oberon can you please help to get this solved? (Add a stream monitor)

I'm currently testing the trial version of "DVBLink for IPTV channels" and also noticed this using Kodi.

From the side of DVBLogic it remains silent, about this issue, what is causing this issue that channels from the M3U that aren't "live" on the internet anymore, the IPTV source remains occupied......

Is it the format of the M3U, bugs in the Kodi PVR addon or something else, DVBLogic should know :?

Because of these bugs, I hesitate to purchase the "DVBLink for IPTV channels" package, because in Kodi I can also create a setup which can do the same as the package from DVBLogic...

So please respond DVBLogic in helping me decide if its worth the money for an IPTV package, that still contains this akward bug making the user experience horrible...

+1 on this. I like the error screen that comes up when the stream is not there, saves me time, but a stream that dies hangs the system up.

Is someone able to post a log for this person? I would, however my trial is over, and until this is fixed where I have to restart the DVB server when a zombie stream shows up, I am very reluctant to try. I wish there was a config setting on the server somehow that timeout. :/ I would buy this in an instant.

Please write to info@dvblogic.com, they may extend a trial for you.
PS.
As i know the default value for timeout is 30 seconds.

When a stream doesn't respond, in the DVBLink server log, I notice this line below gets repeated and no TIME OUT rule is executed by DVBLink Server software to kill the channel and free the IPTV tuner source:

*** IPTV: Waiting for data - id=http://test.test.test:<TEST HD>

Kodi closes the channel in Kodi itself with a timeout of around 6 seconds, but the DVBLink PVR addon doesn't terminate the stream in DVBLInk Server, keeping the IPTV tuner source occupied.

This line "Waiting for data" goes on and on until I kill the channel myself by going to the configuration page of the occupied source.

Compared when I open the same IPTV channel in DVBLink Player/viewer, the stream is terminated from the server with a timeout of around 30 seconds. The IPTV tuner source is free after that BUT you still have to MANUALLY close the channel in DVBLink Player/viewer.

So please update the KODI PVR addon (4.1.7) to fix this issue with IPTV.

Attached a cut & paste from my server log (info level) from the Kodi test:

This morning I made a ticket for this issue and DVBLogic is going to put this issue on their ToDo list, for further tests and debugging.

They will answer here when their tests are completed and hopefully present a fix :D
