AVM Fritz!WLAN Repeater DVB-C

Postby 123dvblogic » Thu Dec 11, 2014 12:11 am

Hi,

prior testing DVBLink for IPTV within XBMC, perhaps somebody can answer my question.

I like to run a videorecorder an my raspberry pi. I have recently bought an anyway needed WLAN repeater, which includes two DVB-C tuners. See

http://avm.de/produkte/fritzwlan/fritzw ... ter-dvb-c/

It uses the SAT>IP protocol. I can watch SD and HD streams in the VLC player on linux. EPG is available. My question: is DVBLink for IPTV able to use this streams for recording?

Perhaps some additional information is helpful. As I read in other forums AVM does not implement the whole SAT>IP protocol, which causes problems in other software. But I found a easy way to store a SD or HD stream on the pi using a single command:

avconv -y -i "rtsp://192.168.178.25:554/?freq=129&bw=8&msys=dvbc&mtype=256qam&sr=6900&specinv=1&pids=0,16,17,18,20,259,533,534,535,538,1581,1591,1592" -t 30 -acodec copy -vcodec copy /tmp/wdr_test.ts

The stored file could be streamed to a TV using minidlna. Works perfectly. The rtsp is taken from the file generated by the repeater

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Das Erste HD
#EXTVLCOPT:network-caching=1000
rtsp://192.168.178.25:554/?freq=418&bw= ... ,6031,6070
#EXTINF:-1,ZDF HD
#EXTVLCOPT:network-caching=1000
rtsp://192.168.178.25:554/?freq=394&bw= ... ,6132,6170
#EXTINF:-1,WDR Düsseldorf
#EXTVLCOPT:network-caching=1000
rtsp://192.168.178.25:554/?freq=129&bw= ... ,1591,1592
...

As far as I see I have to configure the rtsp-lines in DVBLink for IPTV. Does it work?

Thanks & ciao, Lutz

Yes, that should work in DVBLink for IPTV. Please use free 20 days trial period for testing and let us know if it actually works.
Of course, if the repeater would support the full sat2ip spec, it would be better to use DVBLink TVSource as it is better suited for it.

Good evening,

I tested DVBLink for IPTV with the Repeater. In general it works. Complement for the easy installation.

But there some issues:

1. Only a few channels are working (1 SD channel of 33 channels (not all tested) and 2 of 3 HD channels are working).
2. EPG information are not extracted and shown.
3. Recording works. SD quality is nearly okay. For HD there are some quality issues.
4. The quality of TV watching via DVBLink is in general bad.

I like to get the SD channles working. Any suggestions are welcome. EPG informations would be nice. Log files are attached.

Thank you & ciao, Lutz

DVBLink for IPTV does not have any mechanisms for EPHG data parsing from the stream as it is usually not available from a provider. You may use other OOB mechanisms - xmltv, tv adviser etc. - for epg data.

Set log level to info, restart DVBLink server, reproduce the issue and attach zipped log files here.

Do you have any kind of firewall on your windows machine or on the router? Because router does not respond to Describe request, sent on port 554.

I face the same problem as posted by 123dvblogic connecting IPTV to the AVM DVB-C repeater. How was that fixed?

I use a QNAP HS-251 firmware version 4.1.1, dvblink and IPTV / TVsource both as trial license. As DVB source I use AVM DVB-C and the Hauppauge Nova TD stick (DVB-T).
Both sources work well with other systems (either streaming from AVM DVB-C to VLC running on the PC or using Nova TD with the TVStation on the NAS).

- TVsource finds the Nova stick (both tuners) ONLY when TVstation is running - but is not able to tune – error message (regardless if TVstation is Off or On). Removing TVstation etc. does not help - TVsource does not find the Nova TD at all!
- IPTV can connect to roughly 10 out of around 90 DVB-C channels – when tuning to a signal which is not received from IPTV (VLC window stays black) the AVM DVB-C streamer indicates that it is streaming that channel. I verified by connecting VLC on the PC to that stream - works - the streamer says that it is now streaming both to the NAS and thge PC (so the streamer actually transmits)
- same thing if I install DVBlink + IPTV on my PC - exactly the same channels work / don't work. So it is not related to the NAS. Seems to be an issue with IPTV + Fritz!DVB-C repeater.
- TVsource finds both DVB-C tuners on the Fritz! system - but is not able to scan for channels (no channel found) - it even sometimes leads to a crash of the Fritz!DVB-C repeater (hard reset required).

Attached the logfiles.

Thanks

Have activated extended logging and selected OK channels (3sat HD) and not working channels (others like ARTE HD) - maybe this helps to fix the issue better.

Would appreciate a feedback.

Is this an active forum? :?: :?: :?:

On request of your support team I have posted my problem here. So far ZERO response. If you want to make business with me I want to know if the problem can be fixed BEFORE my IPTV trial expires (which is in 9 days from now).

I have further tracked down the issue: Fritz!DVB-C sends all requested streams AND the QNAP NAS receives them (network monitor confirms that). The two peaks on the right side correspond to a SD and an HD channel being transmitted to the NAS. So there is no problem with firewall, blocked ports etc.

The problem must be somewhere in the software.

Dear DVBLogic team - please fix this issue.

Could it be possible, that AVM DVB-C Repeater isn't full IPTV supported?! Why the error is in DVBLink software??

According to the log files DVBLink receives stream, but there are not stream description packets in it - at least no PAT. I do not know how this can happen and unfortunately we do not have the required hardware here to debug the situation.
