Problem with Kartina TV

Postby kappus » Wed Jan 01, 2014 1:14 pm

Help if my Kartina TV subscription is created as a source then crashes the service of DVBLink off after about a minute, no matter what runs sender. After several attempts, it is clear that the source of Kartina TV is the problem. Without the source of Kartina TV everything works again. My subscription is valid, works on the Ipad perfectly with the Katina App. The problem is since this morning. Reinstalling has brought nothing.

It would be very nice if you would get an answer to this! Finally, it is a paid software. And just over the holidays, it is bad when the whole family on the iPad TV needs to look. I have the problem the way on two different systems with different Kartina subscriptions. Here again, a current log file.

Same here in Finland.

Kartina.TV worked fine for 2 years and stopped working properly around 01.01.2014 on my HTPC:

Windows 7
Windows Media Center
DVBLogic server 4.5.0 and 4.6.0 (tried both)
DVBLogic KartinaTV source 4.5.0 and 4.6.0 (tried both)

When I select any channel WMC starts showing it fine but after around 30 secs video freezes and it looks like DVBServer is down since I cannot even access it configuration page. Then server restarts itself. I also noticed that server stop responding even when I just go around it settings and , for example , try to download log file. It stop responding for a while. Looks like it crashes even from it's own configuration pages in web browser.

Any solutions here?

Proprietary Kartina.TV application works just fine from the same HTPC.
Mandatory log file attached.

We are looking into the possibilities to solve the issue. However, I suspect, that you would need to start looking for another working solution.

Oberon, do you mean kartina.tv DVBLink source will not work anymore? Why/ Is it due to changes in kartina.tv API?

Can I not imagine that serious changes in the API have been made. Other programs such as the VLC app or the OSX app to function even after the 01.01.2014 without modification. It does not matter whether one passes the stream to Media Center or VLC. This is my opinion.

May be Oberon decided to drop support of Kartina TV altogether for some reason? May be it is not profitable for them?

For me it also looks like you simply have no desire to take care of the problem. If wait three days, has a trivial answer to get on a serious problem, with a paid software! It's not the only problem which can not be taken care of, see here

I decided to use XBMC with kartina.tc plugin for now. It works well. It has some features that are better implemented then in DVBLogic. Still DVBLogic is better in usability. Looking forward for the solution of the problem.
