WinInet: max two simultaneous streams over HTTP

Postby Chris Woods » Sat Jan 14, 2012 8:33 pm

I can't record/view more than 2 channels at the same time.
In the log file I get the following error message when I try to open an 3rd stream: HttpSendRequest 12002. Since I'm using UDPXY, my m3u looks like:

http://192.168.1.1:4002/udp/224.1.x.y:nnnnn
http://192.168.1.1:4002/udp/233.81.x.y:nnnnn
http://192.168.1.1:4002/udp/233.82.x.y:nnnnn
et cetera.
Looking at the error (HttpSendRequest 12002), t looks like DVBLogic uses the WinInet API. which follows the HTTP/1.1 spec and does not allow more than 2 simultaneous HTTP connections to the same server!
Please have a look at the following support bulletin describing the problem with WinInet: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/183110/EN-US/

Problem fixed by adding host names in c:\system32\drivers\etc\hosts:
192.168.1.1 iptv1
192.168.1.1 iptv2
192.168.1.1 iptv3
192.168.1.1 iptv4
[etc]

and referencing these in my m3u-file:
http://iptv1:4002/udp/224.1.x.y:nnnnn
http://iptv2:4002/udp/233.81.x.y:nnnnn
http://iptv3:4002/udp/233.82.x.y:nnnnn
[...]

This "tricks" winInet into believing these streams are on different servers.
