thanks for the update and support hope we will get this fixed.

PS I have done some more testing and found that when using DVBLink Viewer for Windows the stream stops when click X to stop playing as the Sink goes to 0 but when using Kodi the Sink stays 1 or just increases when clicking again on the same channel.

I've filed a support ticket to inquire about this. They say to be working on a completely written from scratch new version of DvbLogic in which this issue may or may not be fixed. There's no ETA for it and they're dedicating their full attention to that new version before picking up any issues with the current version. So we'll have to suffer until they're done and hope the new version will resolve it.

Between the lines, I read they are preparing a new major DVBLink release to V7 which doesn't come for FREE and doesn't give us any guaranty if they have fixed our issue in this V7 release........

V7 should better be damm good to compensate for the flaws in V6, because V6 users are left in the cold right now with such an answer.....

Hi all
I use this product for ages.
I still have this same issue with v6 and kodi.
We pay for the product and is not cheap.
So the minimum that you can do is answer to your clients, and try to fix a broken product that we pay for.
Thanks

You pay for DVBLink software that you can download from their portal and site....
You don't pay for the DVBLink PVR addon, so you can't demand a fix for that, but you can ask politely that they fix it.

This "stream not responding issue" is not present when you use the official player/viewer from DVBLink

Hi
I think that I am polite enough.
The first post with this problem has more than a year.
That I know the Kodi plugin actually is made by dvblogic also.
I think that we are more than polite waiting more than a year for a fix.
I already saw this movie more than one time.... The solution will be you and all of us pay again for the new version....

...... and anyway, how do you know that the problem is with the Kodi plugin? On the diagnostic tab of the server we see the stream like if it was playing but with all the values on zero. Couldn't the server just check this and if the values are all zero just stop/discard the stream ?

Don't get me wrong, I also hate the situation V6 users are into right now !

Last couple of years we saw that DVBLogic is a company, just like any other company that needs to make money by expanding their platform support, by bringing out and maintaining their software on numerous new platforms which is a great thing for end users on all those different platforms.

The downside of that, we are experiencing right now, that some bugs don't get priority at all, because their main focus seems to be at expanding their platform support and new product development, because that is what generates revenue that every company needs.

Its bad that users are being told by DVBLogic support, that a bug has been put on their To Do list / Roadmap and experience that a bug is known, or on that list, for more than a year already, so I agree with you.

So lets see what V7 brings us, because V6 is working fine most of the time, but lots of things needs to be fixed in the server/player/viewer that we take for granted right now or can live with, to make V7 an upgrade that is worth its price.

I tested it here : viewtopic.php?f=57&t=31216&sid=4a2144ac4d764d7c26b638b81723e255#p117876
This problem doesn't occur with the DVBLink Viewer or Player....

I'm actually pretty amazed how they can keep their company running based on selling a one time license of what? 25 / 30 / 35 euro? I can't imagine them to have that many customers as this stuff is far from being understandable for the average person. It really needs tech skills and passion to set this stuff up. And then still why would anyone want to do this if they can just get a set top box for free or a few euros per month from their cable company which is guaranteed to work? And if it doesn't you get a new one for free? Every TV company also has their own on demand stuff and remote viewing options these days, so really.. what keeps people attracted to DVBLogic? I've seen them struggle with thinking of concepts which would require a subscription (TV Butler, TV guide), but nobody is really interested in that stuff or willing to pay for it. So we've seen major build releases over the last years which barely introduced anything new but required paying for the product again. I can imagine this is just a desperate attempt for them to generate some cashflow again to make running this company worthwhile.

Anyway, I've used it for many years already but only since half a year or so it started to become really flaky. The problem this topic is about came up and more often for weird reasons it just doesn't work anymore until you restart the dvblink_server service. DVBLogic has taken a look at my log files but even from those they can't see why it doesn't work. The suggestion they gave me is to disable timeshifting in the DVBLink PVR Client properties. Haven't run it long enough yet myself after that suggestion to be able to tell if that solves the issue, but its worth trying for you guys as well. Too many variables changed as well on my side in the past half year to be able to say it's DVBLogic to blame. Changed from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, updated drivers, installed patches, used new Kodi versions and so on.

I just wish there would be some kind of open source / extensibility option for DVBLogic. There are loads of cool features I can think of who would be extremely simple to add to the codebase, but never even have a chance to make it in. I would happily code them myself. I even tried Team Media Portal again after abandoning it years ago as this does offer all of this extensibility and open source, but I couldn't even get it to work.
