TVHeadend as a TVSource

Postby leeber » Fri Nov 17, 2017 11:19 pm

Hello folks. I’ve run into an issue whilst upgrading my Synology NAS that has left me with two PCTV 292e tuners that are no longer being recognised by TVSource. The reason for this is that the new NAS doesn’t have any USB2 ports and DVBLink doesn’t seem to recognise the PCTV tuners if they are connected to a USB3 port. I’ve been wondering if it might be possible to utilise a Raspberry Pi running TVHeadend to overcome this issue. I have set up a Pi with one of the PCTV tuners and TVH, all seems to be working ok.

What I’m hoping to do is now find a way to get TVSource to recognise the RPi as a network tuner in the same way that it does with a HDHomerun. Does anyone know if this might be possible?

TIA

So, I’ve managed to setup the Sat>IP server in TVH to export the dvb-t tuner and TV source recognises the tuner but when I try to do a channel scan in Dvblink no channels are detected. I feel like I’m missing something obvious here.
