No DVB-T UK channels found using BGT3600

Postby chrishughes4 » Mon May 21, 2012 11:54 am

Hi
I have purchased a brand new BGT3600 card and it is refusing to find any UK DVB-T channels using TVSource. The DVB-S channel scan however is working fine.
I have tested the card using the native tuning in WMC and it finds all the UK Freeview channels.
Is this a problem with updated transponder files?

Can someone help please

Thanks

Chris

Which transponder list are you scanning against?

I am on the Crystal Palace transmitter and the recent digital switch over meant the transponder list is now out of date. I put something in the thread below about updating the CP list

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I have tried scanning the DVB-T Europe (Full frequency range) still not a single channel detected. I would have expected to find something?

Thanks

Yeah, I would expect you to pick up some (if not all) channels across the full Europe list so there is something else up. Sorry, not sure what though!

If you remove the tuners from the dvblogic setup, and install either the blackgold software, or use media center, do you pick up any stations?
Windows 7 Media Center Embedded in Evolve Media Lifestation
Intel i3, AMD 6450, 4GB,
Dreambox Clone - CCCam 2.1.4,
2xTBS 6981 dual S2 tuner,
Plugin: Acamd 0.6.2.0
TV Source 4.6.0

Hi

Yes I can confirm it finds channels using native WMC tuning.

Thanks

Chris,

Just to let you know I too have a 3600 and it is working fine, tuning all the channels okay. I'm using the latest driver from the blackgold site so probably the same as you.

I have a 3600 running fine with the new V4.5. Have you checked that the frequencies for your transmitter are showing correctly? I have found http://www.ukfree.tv a good reference for the frequencies as they change during digital switch in the UK

EDIT: I have had a couple of instances where individual tuners on the card have stopped functioning (no signal on the signal screen). This has been fixed by a powerdown (rather than a simple reboot). Will keep en eye on this!

I think there is a problem here! I have found that the DVB-T2 tuners indeed keep 'dropping out' (no issue with the S2 tuners). I have also found that a reboot does not always fix the issue, but a power down does - for a time. I have purchased a couple of these cards and have the same issue in both machines. I also note that on the Signal tab, whilst 'quality' is 100%, strength can be as low as 2%. I suspect that when it finally fails, it is a lack of signal strength. The first tuner to fail is usually the one used by the EIT EPG scanner. I have had no issues with BGT3540 and BGT3595 DVB-T tuners under DVB Logic software.

I have not tried to run these cards under 'native' WMC, so cannot confirm whether this is a DVB Logic related issue or not.

Anyone else using the T2 capability of these cards? I am running Win 7 x64 with the 8.1.1.2 blackgold drivers

I've just taken my 3600 out and packaged it for return. I was getting 100% on one tuner but 4% on the other causing the box to keep loosing signal. A reply from BlackGold support said.

Dear Sir,

It does appear that you have one of the tuners with lower performance.

We will need you to return the product to us.

It would appear that there are some tuners that have an issue with performance. I will let you know when the replacement arrives if this solves the problem.

How is the upgraded card performing? Is anyone running multiple BGT3595/BGT3600 cards in one system?
