Wake up when recording is scheduled

Postby dejong12 » Sat Jun 20, 2015 8:52 pm

Hello,

I was wondering if DVBLink supports wake up from sleep mode. If I schedule a recording in the web interface and put my pc (Windows 10) in sleep mode, will DVBLink wake up my pc before it is time to record ?

I'm sad to say my pc didn't wake up for a scheduled recording. How many minutes before a recording should it start (including the 10 minutes of prerecording I set)?

Hi.

Maybe it's Windows 10 problem? Are you turning off computer or you put it to sleep/hiberantion?
When you schedule recording, can you check "powercfg /WAKETIMERS" (note run cmd as Administrator)?

Also please check in Power Options (Advance power setting) - > Sleep -> Allow wake timers option

Hi Brapinac,

My Allow wake timers option was set to only wake from important timers. It probably didn't deem DVBLink important enough, so I set it to enabled and now it wakes up from sleep. Thank you!

Another question, if the air time changes 10 minutes from a scheduled recording for instance, does DVBLink update the recording schedule accordingly?

I do not think so, but you can set "before and after" margins for recordings. Where and how to do it look at screenshot (DVBLink web-client -> settings), after you will set new parameters you will need to make dvblink server restart:

Coming back at the timer topic, I've set a recording and checked if it existed in "powercfg /WAKETIMERS" but it didn't. I'm using the latest version of DVBLink and Windows 10.
This happens when creating a manual recording entry. When clicking the record button on a show in the epg, the timer is set correctly as it should.
