DVBLink Client - Channels and guide: No epg data

Postby jtenniswood » Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:41 pm

Hi
Just using the new version 4.5 and really like the improvements, just wondering why I have no EPG data in the web client? Will it not pull it from the media center? Or do I need an xml service to get the data in?
Thanks
James

Same here.

I've got all main channels set up with EPG (although I'm not using XML), I've got a machine cited as the default recording device (not sure I need that any more), but all channels on the web interface now have "No data available".

Not sure whether I've missed a step, or there's now a requirement in the EPG setup that I've misunderstood.

Thanks - would this get the EPG onto the web service, or is it for the default recorder option?

On the first attempt, this didn't work for me.

Steps taken...
- On the WHS 2011 box, opened Server Manager
- Selected dvblink_server process and clicked stop
- Opened C:\Program Files (x86)\DVBLogic\DVBLink\dvblink_configuration.xml
- Replaced all occurrences of "dlrecorder" with "mc_recorder" (there were three, an open tag, a dll filename and a close tag)
- Click Save
- Restarted the dvblink_server process

On a remote browser I get a "general error happened" message. Although I'm not at home right now, I know I set one machine up to be the default recorder. I've reverted to a backup of the configuration file for now.

I got the same error when i replace all occurrences of "dlrecorder" with "mc_recorder".

I haven't solved it yet. Remote viewing does not have an EPG.

BUMP

Sorry to bump an old thread, but changing to mc_recorder didn't work, and my web from end has no EPG.

I am using WHS 2011 as my server.

When recording I always want to use the Media Center Recorder, since it's centralised and available to stream via Windows Home Server.

How do you get the online guide working like it used to? Mine just says "No data available" across most channels. Oddly enough, one or two of the obscure channels that I never view have got an EPG, but we're talking about less than 1%.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Is this problem solved yet, because I have also changed all occurrences of dlrecorder to mc_recorder and getting the "General error happened " message when I go the Schedules in the web interface!

Hi All,

I too have this issue and have treid the above fix with the same outsome of it giving a general error sadly.

EPG not from MC works but all mine use MC gude data and all these do not show on the web portal.

Very keen to get this working if anyone has any good ideas?

I had 3 chnages made when chnaging the XML - are there other chnages required? are 3 all that is needed? Perhaps @Oberon may be able to tell us as he is certainly the man with the know how!

No, these are the only changes needed. You may try setting log level to info, reproducing the issue and attaching the zipped log file here.
