Recording on Server

Postby kolbe006 » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:22 am

Can anyone tell me what the status is on this.
I Know you are working on making media center to record on only 1 "server" like media portal is doing now, but when can we see this implemented?
At the moment I am trying some other programs and configurations, but i really like to stick with DVB logic.
I don`t have to know a date or something like that (if you don't have one yet), but how long is it going to take.
Are we looking at weeks, months or years?
I don't want to put my time in to something, only to see that when i have it all running you come with the update.

Thanks.
Server: Windows Home server 2011, DVBLink IPTV 4.5, DVBLink Connect! Server 4.5.
Clients: core2 Win7 Mediacenter, i5 Win7 MediaCenter, Samsung DLNA TV, playstation 3, IPad, Iphone 4S, apple TV.

Hello Oberon,
Thanks for your reply.
This looks very good, but wat about mediacenter clients? this is still not posible.
Is this even posible in the future, or not?

It is possible. You just need to program recording via web interface and you will be able to watch recordings in all mce clients (either local or networked).
What is not possible (and probably not be possible also on long term) is to program recordings on the server via MCE guide.

That applies to guide data in MCE that is provided by DVBLink DigiGuide ?
If so MCE client will not be a 'full' client? ( meaning that other clients ( iPhone/iPad, Andriod, Web .... ) will be able to schedule recording but MCE client will not ?!
