I saw in netstat that dvblink_server.exe was listening to 8889 so I've tried that one to, but no luck.

Could it be that this guide and method demands that you also have DVBLink Connect! Server installed? I installed the 20 day trial and now MP finds all channels when I scan on port 8889. If so I can live with that but it should perhaps be pointed out in the guide?

So, what about EPG? Will it work?

Yes epg with eit works and with other xml guides should work as well.

I recommend to use mp to set up your epg and import it in dvblink with the xml plugin.

The m3u creation tool is not working.

I opened the .vbs file and entered IP + directory of my dvblink. The channelsource xml file is present.
When i double click on this vbs file it is loading for a second and nothing happens............

What I?m doing wrong?

Do i have to create the Channel m3u manuelly by hand? Do i have to add all my 200+ channels one by one in that m3u????
This will take days to do so.............. :(

You are not doing anything wrong, the script just runs for 1 second and creates a m3u file in the path specified in the vbs script.
the default path is c:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters\dvbip\DVBLink.m3u
if you are unsertain that it really creates the m3u then remove the path in the script and just make it create the file in the folder that you are running the script from.

There's a nasty bug when setting this up. While scanning the channels, if it comes across one that is not on the air (eg bbc 3 doesn't start til 7pm each day) dvblink server CPUs usage increases massively and each subsequent channel reports as offline (almost like dvb server is refusing the client). I have to kill the server service before trying again

EDIT: after clearing out bbc3,4 and cinemoi. I didn't have any further probs. I'll be reverting back to the old digiguide scraper to xmltv to test it out which is a shame as I love the teams new digiguide importer. Originally to wanted to set this up as a backend to xmbc. But having seen this

http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threa ... ol.102711/

All my dreams may be about to come true using MP

Many thanks for the guide pjoTr2k

Hi,

After reading through this forum is it easier to use V3 DVBLink (as this looks quite tricky!) if so what would I be missing from V4? also can I get V3 anywhere if this is the case?

Many Thanks

I'm considering giving MP a try (now using wmc) so I'm new to MP. But it seems that MP has native support for eg IPTV. Why would you use dvblink instead of the native tv support of Mediaportal?

thanx for the guide :-)

some notes :

i installed it on another computer then the dvblink server.
the guide missing this port+1 thingy when one change the server port , it could be incorporated in vbs script
u need the new iptv module or it wont find channels

using:

(pc1) windows 8 ProMCE x64 on laptop with anysee e30t/c combo plus and ziggo subscription smartcard and dvblogic stuff
(pc2) windows 7 ultimate x64 on server pc with mediaportal tv-server and dvblogic MCEnetwork tuner running on it

setup:

(pc1) install dvblogic stuff > tvsource + connect! server
(pc1) get it to work so it shows channels and plays tv in your mediacenter (acamd620+mdapifilter >explanation>search is ur friend)
(pc2) you install dvblogic networktuner and get this to work with mediacenter. (probably 1 tuner so dvblogic tuner1 is enough)
(pc2) install mediaportal client \ server version (not the one-seat, the server version (advanced settings of installer!)
(pc2) now when u start mediaportal server config u see dvb-t dvblink pbda tuner #1
(pc2) if u see the tuner ur ok and may stop mediaportal tvserver in manual control and put new mediaportal IPTV plug in c:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\
(pc1) now use pjotr script to make the DVBlink.Comhem file. offcourse save it to documents folder and not mediaportal folder
(pc2) get dvblink.comhem file from pc1 and put in pc2 c:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\
(pc2) start mediaportal server and goto dvbip card and scan channels.
(pc2) do not forget to FTA them

p.s. really considering buying dvblogic stuff eventhough the android dvblink on my s3 is not streaming, it does with mediaportal and ampdroid. also with dnla and even on my samsung smart tv which is even better

because you need a good solid and decent tv server which will feed the tv signal to mediaportal.
this setup converts the digital subscriber tv (analog, digital cable, sattelite) to iptv to mediaportal iptv module to your screen :-)

How to fix no signal issue:
1. Navigate to the DVBLink webserver and go to the media section where you can view and stream your channels. Make sure that transcoding is disabled in options so it will give you a link to the .m3u file.

2. Hover over the "Play" button within the DVBLink webserver and select the "Copy link to clipboard" option. You will see that next to "Client=" there is a long hashtag, copy this code and then do a "Find and Replace" within the DVBLink.Comhem created earlier. Replace all the "Client=AAAAAAAA" with the hastag found earlier, so it will be similar to: "Client=m5ghg15165883838asdas35456146as1d".

3. Scan channels and it should work now.

NOTE: Even though channels scan, you will get a "ChannelIsScrambled" error when trying to preview, and when trying to view through MediaPortal EPG the same "Channel is Scrambled" error will apear. One step closer – fixed one issue and another one popped up.

Hopefully this will help someone else diagnose further... I ended up just going back to using WMC because it was too much of a pain to get channels working in MediaPortal. (fyi: I was using the 1.3.0.0 beta release of MediaPortal).
