DVBLink XBMC PVR addon 1.9.1 and 1.7.1: discussion

Postby avdleeuw » Tue May 13, 2014 3:26 pm

Hi Oberon,

can you please tell me if this version of the add-on is available on Github as well? If not, can you tell me from which commit you made a fork to build this new add-on?

I'd like to know, because I made some changes to the original version made by Zeroniak, and would like to make sure that my fixes can get included again as well. Either because you picked them from Zeroniak's source, or because I can build it myself.

Regards,

Ard

We picked the version 1.9.0 from Ordenkamp git a week ago. And will be commiting the changes soon. Please wait until we do that as changes that we have done are reasonably big.

If someone can tell us how to build it without access to the Mac, we will definitely do it.

I would assume that when the source code is made available, someone will also build a version for Mac OS X, especially if this build is currently already available.

Because DVBLink XBMC PVR addon is already included into the standard XBMC 13.0 build, installation of the new DVBLink PVR addon version is a bit not trivial (if someone knows how this can be done without physical removal of a previous addon version, please let me know!).

One of the things I noticed, is the fact that the addon.xml file still contains version number 1.9.0. I think this *may* be the reason why you can't upgrade from the zip-file itself.

I will be trying to change this and do an upgrade.

If I had the source code, I could try to build a version for OS X (xcode is installed for several reasons)

we will release source code in a couple of days (commiting to Ordenkamp git). It is just that we would like to test how it works before commiting.

I've done a fresh XBMC 13.0 install with the included DVBLink PVR addon. After setting this up, I upgraded to the 1.9.1 version through the 'Install from Zip file' without any apparent issues (and without changing the downloaded zip-file) . It does actually show 1.9.1 as version inside XBMC.

This was on Win 7 x64.

Any news for OS X binaries and/or source code publishing?

How about an addon for Frodo for the QNAP devices?
QTS 4.1 (currently available as release candidate RC3) will have XBMC v12.3 so the API level in this build won't allow it to install.

Building the addon from the Frodo branch of the opdenkamp git repository frequently hangs when trying to play live TV.

@Oberon

Thanks for the sources!

@Everyone

Can anyboby try to build this addon for OS X 64bit? I've tried it but get only a binary with size 870 kB! :(
The size of version 1.9.0 is 1,5 MB ...

I think, something is missed on my system to build it correctly

Size matters??

Have you actually tried to use the new addon? The windows version is smaller than the 1.9 version as well, and it works fine for me. They may have removed some static libraries?
