DVBLink TV Server for Ubuntu linux is discussed here!

recommendation for encrypted channels

Postby kAyJ. » Mon Dec 14, 2015 12:56 pm

Hi,

I recently bought TVSource and the TVAdvertiser.

I installed it on a new Ubuntu Machine with a Digital-Devices Cine S2 6.5 inside which is working properly good.
I also want to use my running german Sky abonement. But unfortunately there are not really much information about receiving encrypted channels.
I tried different ci interfaces with different cams but none noticed the sky card.
The Sky card (V13) was already working in my older tv backend system inside an easymouse with running oscam service.

Is there any way to receive the sky channels even with TVSource?
Also any kind of hardware recommendation for e.g. USB CI is welcome.

Here some more detailed data about my system
OS: Ubuntu 15.10
Kernel: 4.2.0-19-generic x86_64
DVB: Digital-Devices Cine S2
Ext1: Digital-Devices Duoflex S2
Ext2: Digital-Devices Duoflex CI
DVBLink Server: Version 5.5.0 Build 11998
DVBLink TVSource: Version 5.5.0 Build 12217

Thanks for any help in advance.

BR,
Kay

You will not find answers here as it is against the forum rules. If you need to use plugins like acamd it will not work on Linux as plugins are not supported. Then you need a Windows DVBLink server.
Win 7 64-bit SP1, Intel i5-3570K 3,4GHz HD 4000 Graphics, 6GB, TBS 6984 S2 Quad,TBS 6280 T2 Dual
DVBLink 5.5.0 Connect & TVSource (mc_recorder), CD S Thor 0.8W,FTA Aastra 19.2E, S FTA T2, ACAMD 0.6.2
Clients iPhone 4S 5S 6S, iPad2 iOS 9,Win 7 PCs

It wasn't my opinion to get any illegal stuff as I have an official german Sky abonnement.
I just want to know if there is any solution available, e.g. USB CI, to get the encrypted channels with TVSource.

CI+ is a difficult topic. I think that you may try using DD's CI module with a unicam. That might work.

Thanks to Oberon for the hint.
Now when I plugin my unicam module, there is a new entry added:
/dev/dvb/adapter4/
which contains:
ca0
ci0

How can I get dvblink to use it?

By setting the below parameter for the ddbridge driver I was able to get the cam noticed by dvblink server:
/etc/modprobe.d/ddbridge.conf
Code: Select all
options ddbridge adapter_alloc=3

Now when I ls /dev/dvb/
Code: Select all
adapter0

ls /dev/dvb/adapter0
Code: Select all
ca0  ci0  demux0  demux2  dvr0  dvr2  frontend0  frontend2  net0  net2
ca1  ci1  demux1  demux3  dvr1  dvr3  frontend1  frontend3  net1  net3

I attached my logs. For my understanding the cam is noticed correctly and as well the caids but no working stream on the sky channels.
Now I'm going to check the activation of my sky card with the original sky receiver.

Any help is welcome.

kAy

As there seems to be no way to get my Sky channels on DVBLink I'll switch back to tvheadend where it surely works.
Unfortunately I already payd for TVSource and Advertiser without using it anymore.

I'm very sad about that, because DVBLink has the better WAF in its webui and app.

You are using softcam with tvheadend to watch sky channels, right?

As for licenses - you may write an e-mail to info at dvblogic.com. They will cancel and refund your tvadviser license.
Unfortunately activated dvblink tvsource license cannot be refunded.
