No TV Sources TAB

Postby cicciospirit » Tue Oct 27, 2015 2:38 am

HI,

I have just installed DVBLink on Ubuntu 15.10. all installed with any issue and can see that the Pinnacle PCTV 73e successfully initialized in Linux.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling TV Sources.

Have i done something wrong?

Please, set log level to info, restart dvblink server, go to TVSource tab, make a screenshot of TV Source tab and attach it with log files.

thanks for your quick response

I have restart dvblink and attached the log files....

i don't get the tv sources tab at all under Sources... only see EPG Sources.

I hope the log file will show something

Just to let you know i'm running this on Ubuntu 15.10 64bit which is a VMware guest on Vmware ESXi 6.0

a dmesg will show that the pinnacle usb tuners are successfully loaded.

thanks

Ok, i saw your log files and can suppose, that for some reason install script for TV Source can't be executed. If you want, we can arrange Teamviewer session, and i will be able to help you with this.
Also, you should be aware that dvblink server on virtual machine, it's not so good idea. The virtual machines do not supported officially by dvblink server. Means that you can use it, but if happens some issues, you will get a limited support on the forum.

hi

oh really. I wonder how that happened. can I somehow reinstall dvblink again? can I run it again and go over it or can it be uninstalled.
oh really no VM? that's a spew. I'm trying to move away fro using Synology as it hasn't been without continuous problems, especially when Synology release an update. I got myself a ho micros server and keeping the Synology as the iscsi connection for the hard drives to the VM. also like the Synology for other software like media streaming.
I'll see how it travels on VM and it doesn't work out then I'll move to a non VM environment.

thanks so much for your help and such quick response.

thanks the_man
I'm assuming it was because the installation was using my login and not root? and therefore couldn't install

The two possible variants of such behaviour:
- the server was installed under user right ( less possible but still )
- the "install" script, that i executed, for some reason do not able to stop server during package installation in automatic mode.
