DVBLink Plex client 2.0

Postby Oberon » Fri May 01, 2015 1:30 pm

Thanks to some enthusiastic users of this forum, version 2.0 of the DVBLink Plex client is available for download from sourceforge:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/dvblinkplexclient/

This version has an adapted UI to match new PHT interface and functionality.

Great, thanks to all those responsible.
Is this limited to certain clients like the old version was?
It played live tv in my browser but not on my windows phone client.
Would be really handy if it worked on fire tv stick and rasplex, but I am sure none of this was easy and any client is good news.

Record with Plex Plugin

Postby Kiwifranky » Thu May 21, 2015 8:11 am

Hi,

the new Plex-Plugin looks great, but I didn't find any button to record something.
When I go to the guide and select a channel I can see everything thats on that channel, but all programs have a play button and I think all programs that play in the future should have a record button.
When I click on the play button of these I get an error "Cannot load M3U8: No levels to play".

How can I program a recording?

The recorder functionality was cuted from Plex client 2.0, because of a lot of issues caused by it.

Noticed that streaming external is not supported? Is that correct?

Now I have a problem with playing live TV. A Movie is 50 minutes long. After this 50 minutes the Stream breaks up. It's if I go to the Stream in the mittle of the movie. The stream runs only this 50 Minutes and breaks up. If a Movie shows 2 hours the stream runs 2 Hours. What can I do to fix the Problem?

Hi,

Great to hear that an update has been made to the client. I had a problem on my Samsung TV that all videos played 4:3. Is it possible to force 16:9?

also, being able to set recordings is really key to a PVR client.

Is there a way to see if the community is willing to support the additional resources to make this happen using crowd funding? I know DVBlogic must have limited resources and I'd be willing to chip in to get this feature prioritised

Thanks

Dave

Thank you for those involved in getting this up and running.

I have got live TV streaming to Plex on iOS, Safari browser, PHT (MacOS) and Samsung TV.

I have the same aspect ratio issue as gsi095 on my Samsung TV's. Both live TV and my recordings are played as 4:3.

Also a +1 for being able to set recordings.

Are there any screenshots of the new version? Is access to the program guide also included in this release?

I feel like I must be missing something obvious... when I try to use the Windows Plex app (both from a Windows 8.1 box and a Windows Phone) to connect to this plugin for live TV, the video fails to play. The Win8.1 app gives the title of:

HTTP Live Streaming
MF_MEDIA_ENGINE_ERR_SRC_NOT_SUPPORTED : HRESULT - 0xC00D36BF

Using the DVBLink client on my phone works perfectly (both on my LAN as well as OTA through the cell network), so I'm not concerned about any port blocks being an issue. Is there some magic combination of enable/disable transcoding on the DVBLink side that I need to match in concert with enable/disable Direct Play/Direct Streaming in the Plex app? If I look at the "Monitoring" tab in the DVBLink configuration page I can see the TV channel start and send data, and PlexNewTranscoder fires up and continues to use CPU until I tell the Plex app to return to the channel selection pane - but no video or audio ever shows up. Ideas?
