Thanks for this app; it's indeed a good idea.

My TV equipment: Samsung UE32F6400AW
Server: QNAP470Pro

- UI interaction speed is generally good. Going through the EPG is somewhat slow.
- Trick modes for recorded TV work fine
- No artifacts for live and recorded TV

Issues found:
- Had to disable login on the server (apparently not yet implemented in the app)
- When I press Enter in the EPG, I do not get Program Details, but playback of the channel starts

Suggestions:
- Order EPG channels based on channel number
- Show EPG info when hitting the Info button on the remote
- Schedule recordings from EPG

TV playback is much smoother than via DLNA. I would very much welcome a release of this app!

I really hope you continue to develop this app! I use it to stream live TV from my Dreambox in Sweden to three TVs at my house in France(not all at the same time obviously), I also use Slingbox for this purpose but that comes with lower resolution and a lot more hazzle using ipads, apple tvs etc. Your app works great on my f6400 but the es8000 and es7000 does not save the server adress. I would also appreciate if you could be able to change channel without closing the previous stream and maybe you could implement a new way of typing, the old t9 is just really outdated and slow, especially since most new TVs come with touch remotes etc.. And having the channels being sorted by number would also by much appreciated.
Anyway keep up the good work and I hope to see some progress with this Samsung Smart TV app!

Regards,
Pengen

Hi

Thanks for this app exactly what i am looking for

My system

Windows 7 ultimate with two tuners

Pinnacle Stargate pci tuner
PCTV 78E android tuner in usb port

1 Samsung UE32ES6300

App works great using fwd rwd pause epg scrolling page down etc
Live TV and recordings play seamlessly
Saving ip address and port doesnt save after tv is switched off
Have to make sure there is no space after ip and port number

2 Samsung blu ray HT-F5500

Playback works really well but fwd rwd pause etc doesnt work
As above make sure no space after ip and port numbers
Strangely does seem to save settings sometimes

Hope you get the record option etc working

Regards Pete

Thanks - this is a very good app.
Please go on with the development of this app.

My system:
Synology DS211
2 x dual-tuner HD homerun network connected DVB-C tuners.
Samsung UE55F8000
iPad, iPhones, Android tablet

Recordings are scheduled via our phones and tablets - this works fine.
Playback and pause works fine on TV app. fwd and rwd works fine up to 8X usually without problems. Would be nice with 16X speed fwd and rwd.
My suggestions are the same as Muyz:
EPG channels sorted by channel number, show EPG info using Info-button and be able to schedule recordings from the EPG. Also being able to delete recordings would be great.

Keep up the good work !!
Thx

For anyone with a 2014 Samsung TV (That's the new H series TVs)

I have the UE40H6400 which I got today.

After a bit of faffing I can confirm that the DVB link app is working. It seems a little snappier than my 2013 TV. The 2014 models are quad core so maybe that's why.
The instructions are quite poor on the samsung PDF.

Don't create an account, just log in with the username develop and no password.
On the 2014 model the app settings are different follow this page to find out how to add the dvb link app.

http://www.samsungdforum.com/Guide/art00121/index.html

can confirmed this is working.

Feature Request: Please allow us to sort out programs via channel number.

Hi all,

I have tested this a little and the application looks good.
I used a Samsung UA55ES6800M (with latest firmware <common string for series>-2000.2)

I had to do something like a cross between the quoted install and the 2014 method mentioned above.

First thing is the settings definitely don't stick.
They stick on SmartHub exit and reload but get lost after turning the TV off and back on again.

Hope the setup entry will use the standard Samsung keyboard if and when the app is released.

I noticed a problem with the date display in the Recordings display, most of the screens show the date as what looks like Russian or Croatian and also in the TV Guide, but in the Recording schedules only the one of the two display options showed incorrect dates, Series I think.

Fast forward/rewind worked well except for one time when I rewound past the beginning while holding down the rewind button.
Couldn't work out how to jump/skip so I don't know about that.

Hello

My TV: Samsung UE55HU6900S
DVBLink Server: Windows 7 x64

Works fine with DVBLink 5, just I need change port after install from 8080 to 8100.
No artifact for live, HD channels works fine.

Issues found:
EPG have invalid time (-1 hour)

On windows media center EPG and PC web browser EPG I have right time, for example:
00:15 - 01:15 Program A
01:15 - 02:55 Program B
But in SamTV in EPG it's same program so:
23:15 - 00:15 Program A
00:15 - 01:55 Program B

I am in time zone Prague/Berlin/Bratislava.

Suggestions:
Pls order EPG channels by channel number, not by channel name. Or make settings for that.
I try change order by channel number in web browser epg, but in SamTV it's still order by channel name.

Hi community,

first thanks for developing this great app.

I have a Samsung H6470 model (2014) with the latest firmware 2.11. Win 7 HTPC with DVB Link Server + TV Source.
Instalation on the samy was no problem, also the settings. Great picture, no pixels etc., Sound and EPG also works great.

issues:

-- when I tried to open a decrypted channel (e.g. Germany, KDG, RTL HD Group) the app crashes. Other decrypted channels work.
-- I always have the number of the channel in the left corner of the tv picture. Has anyone else this problem?
-- when i push the enter button, the channel starts immediately and the info does not pop up

Cheers

Does the Samsung client requires transcoding on the server side?
I'd like to know this for choosing CPU for my server.

It does not require any transcoding.
However, please note that Samsung SmartTV DVBLink client is in beta and probably will remain there forever.
